I got this for a GA High School football message board that I am on quite a bit. This is a summary from an interview on Fox Sports Radio Valdosta posted by a Colquitt fan.
Great interview with Colquitt County Football Coach Rush Propst on todays Afternoon Sports Drive!
Among his revelations:
He did confirm that he has had preliminary talks with New Tennessee Head Coach Jeremy Pruitt and will be speaking with him again after Colquitt Countys State Championship game about the possibility of joining him on the UT staff in some capacity next season.
NOTE: My Opinion? It sure does sound like Coach is leaning towards joining his former Defensive Coordinator!
As I had suspected and commented on earlier in the show, Coach Propst confirmed that the delay in the Championship games did indeed cost the state of Georgia and Colquitt County in particular a spot in the GEICO Champions Bowl Series ( the event played host to Valdosta last year). The organizers of the event had selected Colquitt County - in the event that they won the state championship- to play in one of the two showcase games on December 23rd. (Instead, St Frances Academy of Baltimore will play Bingham, Utah in game one. The 2nd game will feature Chandler, Az and Miami NorthWestern playing each other).
You could hear the frustration in Coachs voice about everything that had happened over the last week.
Lets hope that The Pack can move forward and bring home that state championship!
