Man, thank you, 85 and butchna for your support. The VN family is strong.

Horrible stuff, POA. Very sorry for you and your kids. If you need someone to take a bat to that guy let me know. Someone did that to my kids and I'd be in jail. (not saying you should but I just get worked up about child abuse).

Keep us updated :hi:

Prayers to POA. Looking forward to the day you come in here and tell us that you got custody of your children and I hope the dirt bag ends up in jail and gets some of his own medicine. :good!:

Reminds me of people in biology you got the old farts who still think birds are birds and then you have the Young guns (45 years or younger) trying to make a name for themselves and think the birds are reptiles

They have to do something to get that grant money.

Hey guys. I got the ok from Freak to post the gofundme link here. Any contribution will help as I'm in a tight situation. I recently had to call DCF because my ex's boyfriend left serious bruises on my 5 year old and he was arrested for child abuse. After this happened I found out more info about my ex that is causing me to seek a lawyer to represent me in a custody case. I pulled my sons attendance record from school and he has either been absent or late for school nearly 50 percent of the time she has him. Neither her or her bf work and she has no vehicle. There is suspected drug abuse and selling inside the house. My kids don't have a room or their own beds there either. She seems to plan to stay with this guy despite a no contact order between him and my son. I don't understand how she plans on doing it. I need to get him and my 2 year old out of there asap.

Will somebody with a VQ sub tell those guys to stop touching their live mics when recording the podcast? It sounds like a civil war battle going on in their studio. Giving me an irregular heartbeat.

IMO this should be it's own thread instead of getting buried is this one.

I am sorry to hear about your situation, POA. I can say I am going through something somewhat related - trying to get custody of my kids from an unfit mother. 40 years old, no job, no car, uses all my support money to pay her bills. Sleeps all the time, kids at 10, 8, and 6 have to make their own dinners most every night. Stuff like that. On top of all the support money I pay (over 2100 a month), I buy all their birthday and Christmas gifts, she tells me whenever they need shoes/clothes, and I get it because no child of mine will go without. Its happened time and time again where when they're with me, they tell me they don't have much food in the house so I bring them home after taking them grocery shopping and getting stuff they like. And I've spoken to multiple attorneys who have told me that none of that really matters... unless there is a history of abuse or drugs or the childs lives are in danger, the courts will not take children away from their mother. Regardless, I'm in the process of trying to do everything I can to try and get custody, which ultimately is only making my lawyer rich.

I've told her if she gave them to me, I wouldn't ask for a dime, I'd be liberal with her visitation, and that I just want to take care of these kids properly but she won't do it because she needs the support money. It's insanity.

Your situation sounds more dire with the drugs and bodily harm. I'm almost certain you can petition the courts and get custody right away. Hell if I were in your shoes, I would consider just picking the kid up and not bringing him back. She might call the cops, but she might do nothing. Sounds like she doesn't have much interest in being a mother.

Sorry for the rant. This is a sensitive subject for me because the scales are tilted so unfairly against fathers.

Don’t apologize, man. I think we all have a soft spot for parents who give a damn.

So I haven't been an active reader in the RF much, but wanted to take a shot at who we end up. With signing 14 in December we should have enough room to sign 10-11 more kids.

1. JJ Peterson - LB - Commit
2. Jordan Young - WR - Commit
3. Quay Walker - LB
4. Isaac TayloStuart - CB
5. Jacob Copeland - WR
6. Otito Ogbonnia - DT
7. Glenn Beal - TE
8. Jashaun Corbin - RB
9. Trevon Flowers - S
10. Dylan Wonnum - OG
11. Emmitt Gooden - DE

Most people like Callahan think our max is 22-23 due to blue shirts that Butch used (ie Shaq Wiggins)

I have to deal with this stuff weekly. I have to do allot of exparte orders, going and taking custody from someone and giving child to who judge decides. Some of the most dangerous work I do.

It gets really hairy when you go in to take a child. Bad thing is most are just pissed because they are losing their government check when the child is gone. Give me my arrest warrants any day. Most of them just go and don’t fight it.

College professors are overwhelmingly liberal, to get away from the hyperbole. The percentage deals more with the school (larger schools tend to be more), major or type of school (this one should be obvious), and location (northeastern and western schools are almost completely liberal).

My issue with this subject is that college professors tend to lead the discussion of freedom of thought and open mindedness but the more you get into certain subjects the more you realize that their actual stance in completely opposite and there’s only one way to think: theirs.

Depends on subject matter too

For instance, matrix algebra and thermodynamics doesn’t lend itself to much “opinion-driven” discussion. STEM isn’t completely devoid of that talk but it’s close.

Absolutely, that’s what I meant about type of school. Business and math majors tend to be more conservative. Then, walk over to the Fine Arts building lol...
