Yeah, that's a possibility. I don't remember watching Chryst play at Stanford. I just know that Helton wanted him here and I don't get the sense the coaches are confident in JG's maturity or leadership. But I do think it'll be an open competition, and all QBs will give it their best shot. I want them all to be good so we have options.
Yeah I mean realistically if JG can’t wrap up the job by the end of camp with the head start he’s had, then he probably doesn’t deserve to start.

I’m just skeptical of Chryst in general and of giving him the nod if it’s close, I guess.

Ridley at 14th is absolutely ridiculous

He's skinny as hell (less than 190 lbs) and tested as a poor athlete at the combine in the vertical and broad jump. Being skinny and unathletic isn't a good combination.

I have concerns about him getting off press coverage. And he's not as explosive as advertised.

I'm pretty confident that the top 10 receivers I gave 1st and 2nd round grades to are better than him. Its debatable from 11-15 since all are about the same and 3rd round prospects in my eyes.

I think JG has improved but I still think some of those throws should have been picks especially on the out routes that were behind the wr.

When fans stop expecting every pass to be on target they’ll realize how good our QBs are at times. Dobbs for example was ridiculed by fans. Dude is one of the best to ever wear the Orange at QB. Picks happen at times because of a bad throw or so but bad decisions are my main concern with any QB.

Which one? The last one, Costello, was pretty raw. Highly rated 4 star but not a finished product.

Yeah, just trying to get bearings on where his talent level is.

Getting beaten out by Peyton did not make Brandon Stewart a bad QB. (Just an example... simmer down)

What level of chill are you that has me assessed as agitated?

And Peyton/Stewart were both true freshmen and highly rated...before the star system.

Not directed at you... just towards inevitable following posts “He’s no Brandon Stewart... there’s only one Peyton” that misses my point.

Those were completed because he threw behind. When the CB has positioned themselves well like that, you throw behind to the back shoulder. That was good placement. If he doesn't throw behind, the cb would have made a play on the ball.

I agree about Dobbs. Still not sure on JG, though.

Pruitt is cool and all but he’ll realize here soon he’s got to build a winner. The kid looked a lot better than last year. If he goes with Chryst thinking he’s going to lead us to an East title we’re in for a bumpy ride. Competition/Pressure is fine or what not but he’s got to stop acting like NONE of the guys are good. Callaway is a flat out STUD at WR and should be one of the premier playmakers in the Country. Not a lot of WRs you would want over him physically and mentally as far as being a playmaker.

We don’t look bad on offense and will look much better with Bituli leading the charge.

The LBs were flying in on running plays. He won’t be missing those tackles if Tuttle is freeing him up like that. I think Kongbo still looks the same. Smh lol

JG has had an up and down spring. He did some good things on Saturday but also had some not so good. It’s a good thing or JG that Pruitt isn’t sold on him Yet. Hopefully it’s motivation for him to keep improving.

If JG doesn't win the job this rebuilding job is mush longer. Would be a major disappointment imo

Agreed. If JG can’t beat out Chryst, then he’ll probably either bail on us before 2019 or miss out on some valuable experience for next season.

I’m still glad Chryst was brought in because I do think it’s likely we end up playing more than one guy. But the coaches are gonna have to find the perfect amount to push JG to get the most out of him without pushing him away from the team.

If not, our QB situation in 2019 will be pretty ugly.
