I guess it just depends on what people define as "he's back." I agree that he isn't going to win like he used to. I believe it means to be relevant again and just compete. It has been years since he had been competing. Take out Simpson, and he would have been playing for a title on the back nine on Sunday at the 5th major. I'd say he is competing again.
Time is certainly not on his side, but if he can stay healthy, I think he's got one more nice run left in him. It may not mean a major, but I see him having a year with multiple wins. A year or 2 ago, I wouldn't have said that.
One of the overriding factors in the never ending LeBron - MJ debate was Jordan's will. Tiger's will is in the same class and you'll be making a mistake if you ignore it. He's getting closer every time out so it's probably a pretty good bet he will win again.
