Tennessee has attracted the attention of five-stars Quavaris Crouch and Darnell Wright, the top two prospects in the 2019 Rivals100. That’s heady stuff for new head coach Jeremy Pruitt.

The Vols have also landed one of the top offensive lineman in this class in Grayson’s Wanya Morris and are expected to get a commitment this week from Rivals250 wide receiver Ramel Keyton. And let’s not forget recent tight end commitment Sean Brown out of Georgia who could be a super sleeper. Tennessee's class only boasts six commits at this point, but it's still ranked No. 25 in the country and has a solid 3.33 average star ranking. With players like Lance Wilhoite, Kane Patterson, Andrew Booth, Khris Bogle, Jalen Curry and others showing great interest, there are a lot of opportunities for the Vols' class to climb the rankings.

Pruitt has a direct approach to recruiting and it’s a good fit for Tennessee. He's done a great job of getting some big-name guys on campus. Pruitt wants players who will run through a wall for him and I think that approach will benefit him in the long run. The Vols may not land either Crouch or Wright, who knows, but I like the way things are unfolding for Tennessee in 2019 and especially in 2020.

NBA is garbage.

I thought the Rockets vs. Warriors would be an entertaining series. I thought it may be one of the few entertaining series in the past couple of years. After last night, I've lost that hope. The game last night was terrible to watch. The current NBA game really is garbage. I don't enjoy watching sprinting up and down the floor to watch 1-on-1's and jacking up three pointers left and right.

Suit yourself, but I personally find athletic fast breaks, extra passes for open looks, and fire at will over a grind it out defensive struggle. It won’t go more than 5 games, but at least there’s a lot of action.

I know how this is going to sound and I certainly don't mean to be a smart azz, but what did you expect from Houston & GS?

Let me give you an example. The mid-late 80’s Lakers with Kareem, Magic, Worthy, etc. had guys playing as role players who would have starred on lesser teams. Shucks, even Magic was just a facilitator at times. Magic would possibly be considered the GOAT had he not come to play on a team with Kareem already on it. That was Kareem’s team, but Magic was the glue that made it work. Throw in guys like Worthy and Cooper, guys who were relegated to support players but were stars in any other setting.

But maybe the ‘96 Bulls would be an even better example based on matchup alone. Rodman was reduced to his role precisely because he didn’t need to be a scorer. He would have Draymond ejected from the series by the second quarter of the first game, as his play embodied the Bad Boy Pistons. Kukoc was one of the first of his kind to be a tall, versatile player, and would match up well on KD. The matchup with Jordan and Pippen versus Curry and Thompson would be must see tv.

Tony Kukoc and defensive prowess????

Rodman played that role because he has no offensive game. Heck, he either dunked or nothing. I remember being at the Palace when he made a shot. We all cheered in extreme sarcasm and he’d even laugh hysterically when running back down the court.

My post isn't implying I would rather see a defensive struggle. I would just prefer to watch competitive basketball.

It's not like my opinion is out on a limb. The NBA had better ratings this year; however, ratings have been lackluster for a while now. Moreover, the money it makes compared to the NFL is minuscule. I personally think the NBA would benefit from a shortened season.

I have said for a while now that the NBA is not true basketball. I grew up playing the game, and the NBA just wants superstar basketball. I have not seen the Celtics play much, but I hear they play more as a team.

I really don't watch much NBA at all unless it's the Grizzlies. If the Grizzlies are winning, then I will watch and attend a few games because of the local allure and players who have established themselves here. Playoff basketball is fun to attend, and they are definitely entertaining in person. But it's still not true basketball.

I've been surprised with some of the comments complimentary of his offensive game. I don't recall any of that...haha! The man averaged 7 ppg over his career.

He was a rebounding machine and extremely tough defensively, but he wasn't much offensively.

Although I don't always enjoy the amount of three pointers GS throws up some games, the team can actually play really good basketball (including defending). Houston has its moments, especially on offense, and Capela, Paul, Tucker, and Ariza have increased their defensive ability. But, after watching last night, I fear the series may just be another set of games the NBA has become. Tons of isolation, tons of threes, tons of loose play, etc.

I probably should have never gotten involved in this whole NBA discussion. This will be my last post on the topic.

And fewer teams...

Oh trust me, he was a maniac on the boards and 99% of points were put backs.

It’s not real basketball unless the shorts are only 6 inches long from the hip and dunking is a technical foul IMO.

Hank has serious recency bias, He displays it over and over again.

He's probably mid to late 20's

I could say you and some other romanticize and indulge in the past. Good players shouldn’t considered great just Bc of their attitude or because they clothesline someone instead of just fouling them.

You should equally oversimplify your generation...just for balance. :good!:

You can debate the whole Jordan/LeBron but my goodness there is no way Dennis Rodman could guard KD. Pippen would be on him and even then nobody can shut down Durant even in today's game.

NBA defense today is better than back in Jordan's time.

No prior team could beat the Warriors. They are just too good. They won 73 games in a season...and added a top 10 NBA player of all time. And they play very good defense on top of their offensive machine

And you may think Jordan is greater and that's totally fine. But enjoy LeBron while he is still in the league. He's an absolute monster and already a top 2/3 player in NBA history.

I’m just saying a Player like Rodman who’s never been better than say the 3rd or 4th best player on his team is not an all time great. He’s just a really good role player.

It would honestly be the equivalent of the 96 bulls adding Larry bird.

He must have done something right to be inducted into the Hall of Fame.

Klay Thompson is going to be the 3rd or 4th best on his team and eventually be considered for the HOF as well as long as they keep winning. He realizes it, too, because there is talk that he will take less money to stay.
