I remember when he was having his own 1 man dunk contest at a cavs practice for the cameras on the week of the actual dunk contest.

Can’t lose that dunk contest can ya?

Why would a 3 time finals MVP who's been in so many pressure situations buckle in the dunk contest? Every year it's nothing but a bunch of no name scrubs in that competition. Maybe he thinks he's above it or something.

Wow. Not surprised by the comment regarding Jones. He's an idiot. I am VERY surprised by the comment about our talent. I honestly think we have more talent than people think.

Unfortunately, I do agree with the assessment of Guarantano. He just didn't look very good last year. If this staff can turn him around to be a productive player, it'll say a lot about their coaching skills. Personally, I wouldn't be surprised to see Chryst jump over him as the starter.

Gonna take a shot here and say the coach who said that about Jones was either Smart or Barry Odom. I can picture either of those guys saying that lol.

My favorite part about the lacking of talent post was when y’all said “PS breakerboy don’t read” 😂😂😂

Butch Jones perceived as a horse sh*t coach by other SEC coaches. Unable to develop talent, unable to change system to personnel.

The warning signs were there when Justin Worley was running the spread option.

Well before last season I always got the feeling that Jones was seen as a joke amongst those in the coaching fraternity. I really don't see how he had the success he had when he was at Cincinnati and Central Michigan. Maybe it really was because he followed Kelly.

Kobe and Jordan had go to moves on the post that the rest of the nba could not stop. Please tell me lebron’s go to move

I’ll wait

I guess you could say his go to move is going for 40, 8 and 8 on the reg come playoff basketball time. His post up game is pretty solid, and that's probably an understatement.

Then he wouldn’t feel the need to do the fake dunk contest on his own. It’s akin to congratulating his future self from his pretend past self.

It’s insecurity and it’s so freakin lame I can’t fathom someone as awesome as he is can be such a you know what.

That’s the general difference in him and Jordan. Lebron wants to tell you he’s the best. Jordan made sure you knew it and he removed any doubt you may have had.

Partly it was because he followed Kelly. Partly, though, he wasn't an awful coach. He was just mediocre. Good enough to take us to a couple of nice wins, deliver us to several headscratching losses, and mostly just be...mediocre.

Honestly you can just look at 85% of our team and see they aren’t the caliber of athlete that top tier SEC teams get. The same can be said for our baseball team. I have no problem with the articles

Our baseball team looks like butch recruited them. Too small for SEC.

I wouldn't disagree here. I don't like Lebron. Like you I was pretty disgusted with the congratulating himself thing. But I won't let that stuff get in the way of my acknowledging that he's probably the second best basketball player of all time. Players like him are generational type talents and I try to appreciate them while they're here.

I think we're middle of the road at best talent wise. Bama, LSU, Auburn, UGA, A&M, and probably South Carolina are all more talented. It's going to take more than a hard core spring and summer to turn these guys around mentally and get better players in here. 2019 should be a strong year IMO.

For the record I’ve felt Lebron was best player in NBA since his early days. Generational talent.

My big board:
1.therickboi
2. AtlantaVol to get my mortgage paid off
3. Ron - I mean duh
4. Sarge and baldbiker as a package deal
5. open bar with all the usuals paid for by Freak - glitch, bgs, laager, nick, volingator, catbone, bass, Chief, drvenner, etc

Number 4 would get you kicked out of a lot of places and you’d wake up with midget strippers.

If he works hard over the summer, by the time practice is over I think he could be ready to start. I just don't see anybody not named Trey Smith that is much better than him.

Maybe. From a pure size and talent perspective, that’s probably true. My apprehension with Carvin (and most true freshmen OL, really) is whether he’s mentally/physically ready to deal with the rigors of a full 4 quarters (and a full season) of SEC football. I think more often than not OL need that RS year to strengthen their bodies against the rigors of SEC football. IMO getting thrown out there too early has been a big factor in our OL having health issues the past 3-4 years.

If we get Kennedy from Bama and Smith and Hall get back healthy, we’ll have a lot of options on the OL and may just be fortunate enough to give some of those young guys a RS. I’m not sure an interior OL of Smith/Kennedy/Johnson is any worse than Smith/Kennedy/Carvin (at least as a true freshman).
