The talent is/was there, even if it was slightly overrated but, the development was not.

Butch was a used car salesman, nothing more.

To be clear, my comments on Curry were solely in response to hank saying how much he hates him. Was only puzzled by the level of hate for someone that’s had to work hard to get where he is. Nothing to do with Lebron, MJ, Shaq, or Manute Bol

I admire the fact that no other athlete had as much hype around him coming out of high school or college and him totally living up to the hype and expectations. I respect the fact that he is all about his family and is a great business man all while coming from nothing. Used to be a fan of Curry until we attended the last regular season game in Phx against the Warriors .

My son is 11 and currently in maintenance treatment for Leukemia and was a special guest of the Suns.

His favorite player is Curry and he had the opportunity to meet players on both teams.

Klay Thompson was awesome and spent some time with him.

Curry not so much. Cocky and arrogant and wouldn't even give us the time of the day. Disappointed for my son but he still loves Curry.

My new fav player is Klay. Curry can shoot bricks and go kick some rocks.

Hate to hear that, for your son. I recant all of my previous support for Curry.

People forget how good Ron Harper was before he came to Chicago. He was a Long great defending guard who basically averaged like 20/5/5 for most of his career prior to Chicago.

It’s very easy to cherry pick stats while also discounting the fact that he was on garbage teams like the clippers and Cleveland before he played for the bulls. Kind of like me telling you Jordan Clarkson averaged 15/game for the lakers but can’t sniff the court for the cavs. For your info youngins, the clippers and cavs really sucked in the 80’s and 90’s

It's amazing how badly the 2017 season turned out. I still think Butch is a better coach than what he showed the last couple of years. Or at least, he was. He lost his confidence somewhere between the Oklahoma and Florida games in 2015, and then everything went downhill. It made him change his entire coaching philosophy. Somehow his teams went from tough and hard-nosed to Charmin soft.

But the warning signs were there all along, really. The Florida game in 2014 is really pathetic in hindsight. Worley couldn't get anything going and we had Dobbs just sitting there. They knew they had a slippery QB would could generate offense without even throwing a pass. And lo and behold, Muschamp employed that strategy and beat us with it.
I'm just disheartened by everything about the football program these days. Pruitt has a tough road ahead of him. It sucks to be back to just hoping to make a bowl game. But man does he have a golden opportunity to win some fan support this season. If he can beat Florida, he'll get a pass even if we go 5-7.

I am accused of a lot of things, but nobody that knows me would call me a quitter. If I was a quitter, I sure wouldn't still be a Vol fan even when I'm pretty sure we are going to get our teeth kicked in.

His teams made the playoffs multiple times....a playoff team doesn’t really suck except maybe MJs playoff team when he went like 30-52 once. 🙃

I dont know about anyone else, but i view this as a community and this thread is the barber shop. During the season, its about football and general recruiting. During the offseason. it's about general recruiting and any thing else.

Not buying some of this. Sounds like the interviewed "coaches" made comments about UT and the roster after watching some highlights from the living room couch.

I think the jury is still out on Guarantano, but the comments made about him are vague. It doesn't take an experienced college football coach to see that he, at times, holds onto the football too long. But, does taking hits mean he isn't talented? If decision-making is his main problem, then I realize there are worse problems to have.

I’ll always be grateful for him ending the stupid streak because it gave me my favorite personal moment as a fan ever.

But we really should be riding a 4-game winning streak over Florida and we could have been a playoff team in 2015-2016. Considering I’m no longer convinced Tennessee will ever it make it back to the elite ranks, it hurts all the more.

Gah, we really had every opportunity to get out of the whole we’d dug. Hope Pruitt is up to the challenge.

Guarantano is taking so much crap from fans and media. I trust the coaches to give the starting job to the best QB, be it Chryst or G'tano, but I'm particularly hoping JG (and the rest of the O) raise some real freakin' eyebrows this year.
