The defining greatness of Jordan is that he made his teammates look great just by playing with him. Pippen was a great complementary talent but couldn’t carry that Bulls team that “only” lost Jordan to the Finals in his absence. Horace Grant did his defense and rebounds thing for Orlando...no title. Rodman played for a number of other organizations but got his only titles with teams that had great players (Isiah Thomas and Joe Dumars with the Pistons) he could play off of and who had the leadership to assimilate his oddities. He skipped practices with the Bulls and that doesn’t fly without Jordan signing off. Bet Lebron wouldn’t. Luc Longley, John Paxson, Steve Kerr, Will Perdue, Bill Cartwright, Bill Wennington, DICKEY SIMPKINS? All bit players that hang around a roster. The only players that could have been mainstays as PART of a NBA championship roster are Pippen, Toni Kukoc and Rodman. None do it without a generational player like Jordan. And that those names are part of TWO three-peats is another nod to Jordan. And Jordan returned from a BROKEN FOOT and dragged a 30-52 team that boasted Civil War era basketball legends Artis Gilmore and Iceman Gervin into the playoffs against one of the greatest teams in NBA history and threw up 63 (averaged 43) in the second game which still hasn’t been broken. Seen both and know what’s better.

I actually hated Jordan for years, but his sheer will to win, and never slow down personality won me over. He is the greatest, and nothing will change my mind, at least until another preternaturally gifted player with that same gritty personality comes along. I will know it when I see it.

Jordan won me over in his early losses, not his later victories.

Never stopped hating him. Arguing that a tornado isn’t devastating never bears fruit.

The moment you realize that your happiness at having six pages to read in the Recruiting Forum football talk thread only to realize that 5.98 pages of it MJ vs. Lebron.

It’s a bit boring. When you’re in the future, it’s kind of like the new present. Right now, I’m pinching a loaf.

Not sure what the attraction is but I'll give it a go. I mean you are from the future.

OHHH WOOOOW!!

On the recruiting trail, 8 wins looks way better than 6. It shows the program is turning around quickly and that Pruitt and company are for real. Plus it means we have beaten some of our SEC rivals in year 1, which is not the expected outcome.

I agree that 8 wins looks great, and I think this team can win 7+. But I would hope that Pruitt is truly evaluating the chances of that happening.

I have to say that I agree with Bruin- that if he doesn't believe we can get there, then there is no reason to take grad transfers. I think he is taking them because our first 22 will be solid, and he wants some depth. That's my hope anyway.

The best way i can put my view on Lebron and Jordan is that both of them are so much better than anyone else in the conversation. To me it’s like:

Tier 1:Undisputed
Lebron/MJ

Tier 2: league/game changing
Magic, Shaq, Kareem, Wilt

Tier 3: Elite Greats
Bird, Kobe, Duncan, Dirk, Durant

Your age is really showing here, Hank

I always thought of Hank as an old dude like in the show. Obviously I was way off.

I think Hank needs to change his username to Bobby Hill.

Those roughly 10 players i listed are the best 10 that have ever played individually. If you look at them as individuals and how they effected the game and we’re legit unguardable.

I put dirk on there because he literally carried the Mavs to a title against a great heat team and is basically changed the PF position forever.
