Haha. There it is, Bass. Good slogan, not your fault we sucked. I believed, too and learned the hard way

I didn't think we were going 15-0 last year or anything, but I was shocked at just how bad it was. I don't know that I've ever been shocked at the product I was seeing (2008 is close), but 2017 sure did a number on me.

I never thought we’d be that bad. I expected to compete for the east. Butch killed us

I was thinking 8-4 again with an outside shot at the East. Good lord, last year was so stupid. By the South Carolina game I wasn't even angry anymore. It was like dealing with a loved one who is just a hopeless alcoholic. You want them to get better but at some point you know it's not going to and you're just watching them fall apart and thinking what a waste it all is.

I felt the same way. Then I got upset that currie wouldn’t do what he was hired to do and fire Butch. Incompetence at its finest.

We were far too talented to go 4-8.

I would have bought one :dunno:

It reminds me of a story Dane Bradshaw tells about when Bruce Pearl came in.

Basically something to the effect of “we were so damn tired of losing that we were going to buy in to whatever he said.”

Hopefully it works out the same way.

I completely agree. Who knows what kinda team we are going to roll out there with, but it's not crazy to think we have a 8+ win team this year. I'm extremely hesitant to get my hopes up - but I'm encouraged for several reasons.

I re-watched some of last years games and they were full of coaching/scheme mistakes - this should be corrected, along with gains in the weight room, a new S&C staff to help prevent injuries, some new quality players that provide depth in the 2deep, and a new attitude coming from the top-down, I think we are going to surprise a couple of teams and finally win all of the games we are supposed to. If that on-the-field success translates into recruiting success for 2019 and 2020 then we will be competing for the SEC again in CJP's 3rd year.

Lack of discipline killed us too. At times it felt like the OL and QBs were in a battle to see who could put each other in a worse position to have success. I'm hoping more discipline up front can be one of those sneaky factors that leads to a surprising jump in productivity for the offense.
