To clarify that last post

Phillips and Alexis Johnson for sure have gotten better but the rest of the DL I don't think have much.

Abernathy and Buchanan has gotten better but not sure about the rest of the secondary.

Defense individual development has been hit or miss but as a unit the group for sure is better.

Would love to hear what Pruitt is telling these recruits. No way it’s just PT and $

Probably goes something like this...

Pruitt: "Hey, player X. Howya doin'? Didya see us play Charlotte?"
Player X: "Hey Coach, yeah, y'all looked good. Enjoyed the game."
Pruitt: "No... No... we looked like warmed over grits, aight. I've got 22 starters to replace. Lemme know if you want a spot."
Player X: "I mean, yeah I think I'm probably bett..."
Pruitt: "Listen... the bus is gettin' full, and you can go stand behind someone for 3 years, maybe get a chance to play a year or two or step in immediately and begin developing your draft stock. The league is filled with players developed by this staff, but that don't mean much if you don't get a chance to play. Anyways... lemme know."

LB and Dline couldn’t get off blocks last year and would allow the RB to get to the 3rd level untouched

I don't see any difference in 35 from a year ago. 23 hasn't done much and 14 is in the doghouse again. 34 is the same as well. I just can't see much LB development

I think as a whole they’ve done a lot better at stopping the RB before getting to the third level, not getting dragged 5-10 yards either. which is also partly due to the development of the Dline. They were horrendous last season. Not great now, just improved imo

I agree as a whole. I'd say our defense is a case of the sum being greater than its parts

It’ll be interesting to see how many guys on this defense right now get drafted or UDFA after their career is over. Going into the year you could pick maybe 2 or 3, could see Phillips, Johnson, Tuttle, Warrior, Bituli, D Taylor, Kongbo now

Depends on how we finish season. Win out and we set the world in fire. Win 2 of 3 we probably still do. Win 1 or less we likely don't go on a flip party
