Well we were talking about the idea of 1) Leach going to GT and 2) increasing their recruiting profile to elite status as a result.Georgia Tech is a 3 star haven also. Main reason I doubt the move.
again, i'm not quibbling over the offense. as much as it is the 2nd chance, or at the very least, the opportunity to make amends.I don’t see it as apples to apples.
I think Ainge’s drug abuse was a victimless crime. I personally wouldn’t be worried that my adult son being around him now would be at risk of being influenced to use drugs by him. I can’t even think how that might happen outside some extreme unlikely scenario.
As for Freeze, his probalem is morality. I despise those fake Christian hypocrites and I don’t want that person to be a role model for my kid unless I know they’ve changed.
My step-father was a recovered addict and he was the greatest Influence on my life, so I am obviously a bit biased too
True. He’s never been an elite recruiter...wouldn’t have been for us and Georgia Tech doesn’t recruit itself.Well we were talking about the idea of 1) Leach going to GT and 2) increasing their recruiting profile to elite status as a result.
I think he could be successful there. But I don’t think it would be a result of being an elite recruiter. He’d still get the leftovers like he does now.
As long as the prostitute is one by choice and not being forced into by somebody I don't see how him paying somebody for sex is worse than drug addiction. To me it's the same it's something illegal and they're not proud of. As long as they have stopped and dont do it anymore I dont see the difference.Yah I didn’t say that it was. I said I don’t think Ainge’s was.
Usually the direct impact on others is theft. He had money, so I doubt he stole.
You wanna talk about the psychological impact of families worrying about the health of their loved one? That’s valid.
The impact of the drug economy and its effect on people. Valid.
But most of those same things I’d compare to how prostitution is “victimless” in the same capacity
So I went back and looked at Freeze's record at Ole Miss. 2012-2016. Against P5 opponents his record was 22-24. Could it be that we are anchoring our opinion on Freeze from his Fluke wins against Bama, while all the while ignoring that was the defintion of mediocre. Just saying.
There is 100% some overhype attached to him. How much is the question? How good is he at recruiting without cheating...hard to know. He is obv a good offensive mind that was successful when he had great talent....how good does he scheme up if he is having to mask deficiencies and adapt to different talent? So I went back and looked at Freeze's record at Ole Miss. 2012-2016. Now we’re equating a substance addiction with hiring hookers for 17 and 18 year olds?
If we hired Freeze the backlash of negative media wouldn't last long. And it would turn into a comeback story of a family man who just wants to coach young men to be better than himself, Americans love that stuff. Especially when we start winning big games. It'll be a featured story on game day by Tom Rinaldi - "A once troubled coach turned his life around with the support of Fulmer, Pruitt and the Tennessee fanbase. It's paying huge dividends in Freeze's family, community and a proud Tennessee program which is now back at the top of the CFB world. Back to you, Kirk..."

Is Freeze so much better than Lindsey, Drinkwitz, McClendon, etc. that we’re willing to lower our standards and take a big PR hit in order to hire him? I’m not sure. That’s the discussion happening at UT right now and the discussion we should be having.
He’s a good coach. But is he THAT much better than any alternative?

I'm not sure his recruiting will be all that special from a standpoint of sitting in someone's living room. I think his benefit to recruiting will be his reputation for being a great offensive mind and having a high flying exciting offense that kids will want to play in.There is 100% some overhype attached to him.
