Yep. I don't think Freeze is a one and done guy like price and others bring up. Think he will need at least 2 yrs like Kiffin and even then would he want a smaller job or keep waiting for the big one? I think if you set it up right you can have him for the next two yrs minimum and it probably would be best for him to be apart of something big here to help image even more
I think Freeze is more like BobbyP than Kiffin. BobbyP sat out a year then one year at wku before the big jump

If freeze is willing to take any power 5 HC job he is only our OC one year imo

There’s no story because there no agreement to this point.

It’s headed that way and I think Atlanta Vol’s post points to Freeze being the pick.

When an agreement is reached Low will have it.

Exactly. Even if it's only for 2 years, we would be in a much better place as a program
it would be a good problem to have. him being gone in a year or two probably happens because we've had some semblance of success.

that the goal, isn't it?

htat comes at a cost. ask Urban Meyer or Nick Saban....they've both had a ton over turnover on their staffs over the years. Dabo to a certain extent as well.

it comes with the territory, and that's the territory we want to be in.

That makes sense. I just think the "perceived" NCAA cloud may be what makes them more hesitant as a HC hire until it's pretty far removed.

Interesting the Lowe said Freeze didn't get in trouble for NCAA shadiness himself. In the report it's actually that he overall formed a program of compliance but that he failed in controlling members of his staff and boosters. That statement helps him and it is another reason I feel like the PR machine ATL mentioned is we are working with guys like Lowe to have the info they need for articles to help

Not to mention... Had Freeze hired Pruitt at Ole Miss they would have been seen as a national power at the time.

But Tennessee as a program has a much higher ceiling in just about every possible way.

And our HC will never neglect the defense.

Let's ride

If Louisville hires matt Canada over Satterfield.... smh..... these other schools hiring processes this yr or proving we weren't the only mess around
Idk, Canada did a pretty good job at Maryland this year. He’s been an OC at the P5 level for a decade. Swaggerfield hasn’t coached at the P5 level at all

So what did it say?

I don’t mind sharing it. But Saturday’s text was confusing and made me second guess what I share. But screw it, here goes.

“So Brice is saying Freeze is a for sure and should hear something no later that tomorrow.”

That was it. Why Brice feels comfortable sharing info with him, I don’t know. They play ball together on Thursday nights and have for the past few years so I know their more than just acquaintances. 👊🏼

How does Hyams even have a show? The 6 or 7 yrs I've been patrolling this site I .can't remember one time where he was factually out front on a big story. I'm sure there were some but it escapes me at this moment..
His goal isn't to be first, it's to be right. He'll give you his opinion, but he's not gonna report something unless he believes it's fact.

I don't care for him, and I'm not trying to defend him, but he's an old fashioned reporter type. Like it or not.

Any OC or DC worth their salt is a liability to leave if they do a great job. It's rare to find a Chavis or Venables type that doesn't want/ has given up on being a head coach. Having an OC so good that they're getting Power 5 head coaching offers is a good problem to have. OC might be Freeze's peak for a few years based off of his history. He may have to decide to stick at OC longer than 2 years or take a group of 5 job like Kiffin. I think Kiffin's career post-USC could be a good indicator for what Freeze's trajectory looks like.

Kiffin also got fired at USC for not winning though.

Chris Low also said that Saban has an extremely high view of Freeze as a football coach. As everyone knows, he wanted to hire him last year. He brought Freeze in to show him what it is that Freeze did offensively that was so successful against them. Freeze demonstrated it on a whiteboard and Low said that many things that Freeze taught Saban that day are in Bama's offense this year.

Freeze is as elite as it gets as OC. We pair him with Pruitt and we might have the best coaching staff in college football
Let’s go!!!!

I’m not sure if BobbyP would have got hired back that quickly today given the current political climate. I think Freeze is different but I don’t think it’s a givin he’s gone after a season or two like some are suggesting. Doubt he leaves for G5 and Idk if he goes outside of the south
