So this makes me think the hold up is Freeze has been talking to Saban since the SECCG and is trying to decide on where he wants to go.

maybe but if you succeed there its always a question of whether you out athleted everybody or was it great coaching. We know the answer to that. Saban was a 9-3 coach with slightly inferior talent at Mich state, ****** coach at Miami, greatest of all time apparently now but with the disqualifier he hasnt faced a team with equal talent in a decade. They have a serious talent and esp depth advantage every saturday. Coming here Freeze knows there could be no question who to attribute success to. So we will find out soon what kind of road the man takes. I know what I would do but I'm a Tennessean after all, I never felt like a champion in any sport when I had the decided edge that day. Just felt like I did what I should have done. But on those rare days when you unexpectedly whoop somebody's ass and they look at you like they want you in a foxhole with em when the shitt hits the fan... priceless

Eh Lockley hasn't even accepted the Maryland job so I'm not worried about Bama yet. It'd be very unprofessional of Saban for talking to Freeze about a job that isn't even open yet IMO.

I don't think that's what Low is saying at all. He's pointing out that Freeze isn't damaged goods and that Pruitt isn't breaking some NCAA/SEC unwritten code by hiring him.

i.e., the PR machine is revving up to make the hire more palatable to the media.

I don't think Saint Nick is above back channeling some convos with Freeze if he thinks Locksley is in play at Maryland.
