I just don't see Lindsey going to Kansas without knowing our spot is gone. They are too close and this is a much better spot. He prefers this region for his recruiting background. If he moves on then you know we have someone done

the only caveat i'd throw in here is if there was some last minute disagreement from someone that they previously didn't anticipate having an issue, or wasn't consulted (how that would happen, no idea, just sayin'), AFTER pruitt told Lindsey Freeze was the guy.

that would at least match up with the reports of a snag.

Serious question. Who has to sign off on an offensive coordinator hire? surely its not like a head coach hire and have the President, Chancellor, and AD.

This doesn't make sense. Pruitt should know if Freeze will be "blocked" before telling Lindsey that he has moved on.

ideally, yes. stuff happens though. no way to know or tell. most likely thing is we're hiring freeze and pruitt told Lindsey to do what he wanted to do.

2 Thoughts:

1. I think most people who are "freaking out" aren't anxious because they think Freeze is the only good offensive coordinator option available. I think it's the thought that we might not get him because of the administration and what that says about the future of the program. Essentially, it'll feel like we're still where we were a year ago and a lot of us thought we were past that.

2. If what Hank is saying is true about there being a possible non-escort related issue, then bravo to Fulmer/Pruitt for working through it behind the scenes. One thing that always bothered me about the media's response to the Schiano ordeal was they blamed the fans for ruining a mans reputation but never considered the fact that that only happened because Currie and the rest of the administration didn't do their work behind the scenes to see how fans would feel about the hire while knowing what was in Schiano's past. Working these issues out behind the scenes means you can save the guys reputation and still go in a different direction if you find things you don't like.

It really could be something as simple as Sexton playing hardball on the terms of the contract and the admin balking over terms or amounts rather than anything specific to Freeze’s background. Sexton knows how desperate we are and is surely trying to maximize his client’s end of the bargain.

usually just the head coach, and maybe the AD, depending on the situation.

ie, Saban, Meyer don't really need AD approval to make staff hires.
