To start with the immediate stuff. I haven’t heard anything at all today but that is also because I have been out of pocket today myself. I can tell you this with 100% confidence...when I posted last night a decision had been made by JP at some point Sat night/Sun morning who we wanted to hire and that the wheels would be set in motion to make that happen. I am not sure if anything has changed since then because again I haven’t been in contact today with folks. But again the sense of what I got was that things would get set in motion today or at the latest tuesday. So perhaps everyone should sit back and take a deep breath. I also didn’t allude to who coach had decided on because that isn’t my place to leak that kind of information before it is leaked to the folks who need to know...I can’t upset the apple cart in that capacity.

Is it someone we SHOULD be happy with iyo?

We’re willing to overlook everything because we think the guy will make us successful. We weren’t willing to overlook the Schiano stuff because deep down we didn’t think he was worth it.

This is pathetic and we should be better.

I mean Freeze is dirty. He's made some mistakes. That said most coaches pay players in some way or look the other way while others do it. Solicitation of a hooker is illegal, amoral, and honestly disgusting IMHO but it's not even close to in the same ballpark as what happened with Sandusky at Penn State. Now likely Schiano knew nothing but there is zero way in hell I take that chance if I'm in charge of the program.

The scariest thing was the dumbasses in charge of hiring were not aware of the potential carnage in Schiano's background.

And should we do better? Yeah probably but it's hiring a damn football coach not a saint.
