There was report linked here a week or so ago that said Saban wanted to hire Freeze last year as OC

Depends. 7s is wide open and have to be in great shape to play it. Its 14 minutes of non stop running and there’s only 7 players on one team to cover a field that’s as big or bigger than a soccer field. Also the passes are longer in between players and you have to be great at tackling solo in space. Basically if you can tackle like a free safety and run like a gazelle it’s a perfect game for you.

15s is more compact and can be easier to pick up, IMO. Game is slower and gives you more time to learn the rules, how to ruck/scrum, etc. I learned 15s first and I thought it was beneficial.

So essentially UT has some moral retard in the admin or BOT that clearly sees and knows everyone, even our once biggest rival wants Freeze and has no problem hiring him, but they don't want to... why? They also know that our NEW head coach wants this guy and is willing to take the risk, but he is not being allowed... this person would also know that this will piss our NEW head coach off and he will be out the door ASAP because this screams he made the wrong decision and is coaching for a school who doesn't care about winning... Did I miss anything?

They better get more concerned with having a ghost town campus when none of us show up next year after ten years of this BS. Winning solves all problems and nobody in our admin seems to be concerned with actually winning.

Don’t get me wrong, my confidence has definitely taken a hit that we will work it out with freeze just Bc the time that it’s taken. I also think there is more at play than just a money guy blocking. It has to be. It could be SEC/money/President/AD or any combination etc. i obviously, and i don’t think anyone really knows the details. But it’s not been shut down and freeze hasn’t moved on so that’s what gives me hope still

Hire a former HC with a proven record of beating you to be your OC. He happens to be newly off probation for hiring hookers and paying recruits

Promote a QB coach

Canada is a reasonable candidate. There will also be some names start to become available from the NFL ranks over the next few weeks. If we don’t get freeze I wouldn’t necessarily panic and make a subpar hire just to get someone in quick
