Then Fulmer has dirt in Freeze, and he doesn’t want that on his hands.

If there is one person I trust to have Tennessee football’s best interest in mind, it is Fulmer

My dream scenario is Fulmer knows more about the ugly side of Freeze, gory details not yet public. Alabama hires Freeze and Fulmer secretly releases his file to select members of the press.

Sark sucks if you can't figure out how to make the Falcons work with those weapons, he won't be able to score a field goal with what we have.

The falcons are top 10 in:

Yards and passing yards. They are also 14th in points which is pretty good given all their injuries on the OL and not having devonta freeman.

Offense isn’t their problem. Their defense is god awful.

This right here. Fulmer, a former coach, likely has a better inside track to the real info on Freeze.

Didn’t you guys watch Blindside? 😂😂

If Fulmer blocked it, I’m good with that. It will be up to Fulmer and Pruitt to work through how that affects their relationship.

No. I know we talked to at least 4 people (Lindsey, Enos, Drinkwitz, sarkisian) beyond freeze. But I think it’s shown that freeze is/was the top target for Pruitt or more candidates would have ANYTHING but “they have spoken”.

Hmm interesting I brought up Sark last night as a guy I think Pruitt will look into. They worked together Pruitts first yr back at Bama. I am curious to if that USC style offense is what Pruitt hoped he was getting from Helton in first place. I think Sark leaves Atlanta and goes back to college this year.

My board of people I would have talked to based on Pruitts perceived style and connections would be:

Enos - scheme fit, experience and QB guru

Freeze - because you have to talk to him

Petrino - see Freeze above and actually a better fit than Freeze schematically but personality could clash with Pruitt. Part of that tree Helton came from.

Sark - scheme fit, experience, previous work together

Werner - worked together, old HS coach, if you like Freeze offense then he probably likes him, QB developer

McClendon - worked together, gave us fits to defend, young relentless recruiter, would be able to work side by side with Friend and Lilly as they know each other's system

Cooter - Fulmer/Manning tied; pro system. Has shown he can have run game when given a power back like johnson this yr. seems destined to part ways with lions.

Jedd Fisch - no ties but scheme fit. Another QB guy

Chip Long - ties with David Johnson. Alabama native

Kitchens - will stay in NFL but you talk to him

I would talk to anyone from the Shanahan tree. A lot of what they do is what we want to do.

It needs to get to $322. Should have sold it at $400. I know, hindsight and all that ish.

In the FWIW category this AM...

The markets are the same as trading players in professional sports - always sell at the perceived high, not the actual. Lock in on your gains. Sell on the run up when the publicity is building and interest is high. If you get in a little late, accept the smaller profit and move on to something else you can get in on a little sooner in the growth cycle. If you still like the company's future, you can always buy back in for some amount subject to how much profit you want to make sure you hold onto. Play the secular bull market run instead of the shorter term bull/bear or mini-market swings. The former still has a lot of years in it if Trump strikes a decent deal with China. Everything I see and hear says 10-12% overall market increase for 2019.

To bring this back to UT football - CJP has no franchise players, so he can sell early playing time along with his and the staff's proven backgrounds of developing future NFL players. Forget UT tradition and facilities as being huge factors. The current recruits only know about any of the tradition from history books and campus statues - many were not even alive when we won our last NC. Find the OC that runs a scheme that fits CJP's system who can be sold as a developer of NFL quality talent who will not get you into trouble on the recruiting trail. It's a long term developmental fix for the program IMO. That means buy in now and hold through the smaller up and down cycles.

Is the search as dysfunctional as it seems?

That's probably one of the best question of the last two days. Really is.

Being completely transparent here and staying up late/getting up early and looking at what I have said/offered the last two days. I question whether it's as bad as it has looked.

I wonder if there was ever going to be a sign off on Freeze. If there wasn't then why interview Freeze? If you look at the issues of the last two recent head coaching searches (I know HC searches and OC searches are different). But with the last two HC searches, not putting Gruden to bed early was a huge mistake. At Butch Jones' introductory presser, Dave Hart had to answer Gruden questions. Should have never happened. This last disaster of a search Gruden dominated the month of November and the possibility of him coming was never real.

So if Freeze isn't/wasn't a reality then why let it become the story. As an athletic department set the narrative. In other words put it to bed if you aren't hiring him. You have the opportunity to do that. To me there's the dysfunction and it could have be avoided if Freeze wasn't realistic.

Because it wasn't put to bed then the assumption is that Freeze was "the guy". And those close to Freeze are obviously talking plenty as his moves have been known. He's talked to Tennessee, Auburn, FSU, and is going to talk to Liberty making the narrative that Freeze is the hottest name out there in the OC pool.

So behind the scenes is it not as dysfunctional as it seems? Sure. But the perception of it is that it looks dysfunctional and the perception often becomes public reality.” -Hubbs

The running game is horrendous. Looks like a PAC 12 offense..

They haven’t had freeman all year and a lot of injuries on the OL, plus when you’re playing from behind all year because your defense can’t stop a nose bleed, you kind of have too.
