...to remind you how cutthroat they are behind the scenes.
Clemson negative recruits as strong as anyone. In 2018 cycle year they took the best player in Ohio and Alabama, telling recruits Meyer and Saban were on the downsides of their career. He was right about Meyer i guess.
Crouch’s recruitment also reinforced every UT commit (Higgins, Etienne, Dixon, H Johnson C Mays) gets the “UTs never going anywhere” routine and flips them. That’s 5 major players right there.
Just highlighting the seen/unseen sides of this new “dynasty.”
If you think that Jeremy Pruitt wont use any and all possibly methods to get a kid to UT ... then you are just oblivious to the real world of recruiting.
It didnt hurt that he had a pretty good team that he took over in 2008. That team was preseason #9 and even though they went 3-3 in conference, they had a ton of talent on that roster.Sweeney created a culture and identity at Clemson before they became an ACC power much less a national power. This is step one for UT - creating a culture and identity. This will take some time - largely due to the cluster the program has been in the past 10 years.
Hate to draw parallels to UT fall and Clemson rise, but goes to how things can spin out of control if wrong decisions are made...especially one after another, as in UT case, but much of talent on Clemson has come at expense of UT. The fact that Trevor idolizes Peyton and from Johnson City initially and UT fan, sickens me. Well documented Taj Boyd run off by Kiffin, becomes key in building early success and momentum at Clemson, which enabled Clemson to start building talent in the trenches. We need "that guy" to lift UT...if we can get our OL to improve, and JG improves, I think he has potential to be that guy who gets us to the next higher level QB...or maybe we have him committed now. To get to championship level will take years, but getting to 8-9 wins over next few years, to me is acceptable and a must...all this being said, sure would help if we could hire an OC.Sweeney created a culture and identity at Clemson before they became an ACC power much less a national power. And Saban just got beat like he hasn’t in over 5 years at least IF ever at Alabama idk I’m sure he took bad losses at LSU...to remind you how cutthroat they are behind the scenes.

It’s amazing how he keeps his coordinators thoSweeney created a culture and identity at Clemson before they became an ACC power much less a national power.
