But what Jordan and Martin do is different enough that they really shouldn’t be compared too much in anything other than their influence and impact.

GRRM’s work is better compared to Patrick Rothfuss’. And IMO Rothfuss is the much more talented writer, but GRRM might be a better storyteller.

Don't think I've heard of Rothfuss. Which are his books?

Dobbs and JG shouldn't be mentioned in the same breathe.

You made my point for me. Looking back, Dobbs ended up being an excellent QB for us; hindsight is 20/20. But up until probably his last year many didn't think he should be playing; that's precisely how many feel about JG now. So at this point in JG's career he's pretty much where Dobbs was at the same point as it concerns fans' view.
