Hmmm. He is a bible thumper. I'm a bible thumper and I'm for decriminalization. I'm also one to think the government shouldn't have any part in it. No taxation, unless it's a commercial product grown commercially sold commercially in stores. Should be treated like a vegetable. And I'll add that I don't use the stuff, personally.
100% agree. I think people that want to grow their own should be able to, and taxes should only apply to commercial use. Just cut the real criminals completely out of it.

Tennessee Announces Change in Women's Basketball Leadership - University of Tennessee Athletics

Tennessee Director of Athletics Phillip Fulmer announced Wednesday that Lady Vols basketball coach Holly Warlick has been relieved of her duties.

"She gone," Fulmer said.

A national search for the next Lady Vols head coach is underway. Assistant coach Dean Lockwood will maintain operational oversight of the program until a coaching hire is made.

You guys think it will be tough to buy tickets off the street tomorrow?

Bought tickets off seatgeek yesterday with next day air. The seller didn’t even drop them off at UPS to be shipped so I got screwed.

Now, if Fulmer fires a woman then hires a man I hope he can withstand the initial backlash.

I don't think there'd be a backlash. Of course, people want to see a woman leading an elite women's team but not at the price of making an inferior hire. If we can get a guy like Walz, we need to get him.

Yeah, she drew that line in the sand after the UCLA loss. I was surprised she played it that way. I figured UT might word it a little more ambiguously, but at least it's over and we're on to a new chapter.

Was it really a bad break up? Or did she just not want to let go and she felt like she still deserved her job?

Did you not pay attention last year? Ignont and Reid played solid minutes. Or are we just supposed to go with the agenda of "LBs bad this year"

I did. And yeah they did. But they both sucked.

The reports from spring are they looked much improved.

The rest of your post makes no sense to me.

It’s hilarious you keep coming back to KC. Our offense was god awful last year regardless so not sure what the point of that is.
Agree with the final point there. What’s hilarious though was the shortsighted rush to judgment of seeing him in shorts a couple times and expecting him to easily win the job based on that and a personal bias against the competition in general.

Also does it really matter how much experience a player has if they’re never good. It’s like being excited about Blake bortles being your QB. “He’s played a lot of football and got experience but he’s still the same crappy QB.

At the NFL level, maybe experience doesn’t mean too much after a couple seasons. The level of play and athleticism is so high across the board and pros also have their college experience already built upon. College is a different game in those aspects.

It’s not uncommon to see college players put together solid Jr or Sr. campaigns after doing very little things in previous years. Alexis Johnson and Kyle Phillips did that last year. UK’s defense in 2018 was full of upperclassmen who took big steps forward after a few years of struggles. Mizzou has had really good defenses full of guys like that.

Also, suggesting Bituli has never been anything but bad is disingenuous. Is he limited in aspects of his game? Yeah. But he’s played some solid games, too.

Our DL will have a very good edge player in DT returning. Our ILBs don’t have a good player returning. That’s why I’m higher on them.
Very good edge player? DT had two good games last year and was meh the rest of the season. I expect him to take a step forward too next year, but still. He’s been very inconsistent. Whose gonna paly the other 3 spots? What happens if DT gets injured or stomps on someone’s head again? Who will be our DTs if Solomon isn’t eligible and/or Williams isn’t ready to contribute?

Both units are concerns, but there are far more concerns on the DL. More spots to fill and fewer known quantities.

Our LBs struggled and were exposed badly against WVU, Bama, Vandy, and Mizzou. So were our DL and secondary. But for some reason people forgive those units and not the ILBs. Seems illogical.

The ILBs play solid ball in spurts. They play the most mental position on the defense, should have a better understanding of their jobs in the second year of Pruitt’s defense, and will be pushed by 2 highly regarded newcomers.

Just seems like a recipe for our ILB play to look better in 2019 than in 2018.

Some still can't seem to accept the Vols are not losers any more. Time to go get the Directors' Cup trophy. Phil needs to add it to his NC trophy.

Is that the Stanford cup?

Shoot, Florida won the natty in both football and basketball one year and didn't win. UConn has won both mbb and wbb and didn't even place. Meaningless unless you care about polo and ROWING. No thanks. The stuffed shirts can have their silly trophy they engineered to win.

Thanks for posting. I have catching up to do in regards to wbb.

Grew up a huge fan, went to every uconn matchup with my mom, and even won a FF trip to Minneapolis through some old "I Beat Bob (Kesling)" free throw shooting contest at East Towne Mall. Got to practice with the team and Pat even came up and found us in the stands in Minneapolis and took a picture with us. As a 9 year old that is something I'll never forget. But the last decade has left me without any interest at all in the team. I miss those times watching the team romp through the tournament from a seat in tba or a bar in Knoxville.

Really hoping this is the turning point. I will definitely watch some games next year if we make a great hire and maybe eventually I'll come see them again with my mom.
