I want that to be true, but I think we are about to see the worst season in Tennessee history. The program is just rotted to it's core. It set in over the Dooley/Butch years and has destroyed the program. I think Bass is right, but I want you to be right.

Now even the biggest pumpers on the board like Ron are in shock at the total putrid crap we saw. It makes zero sense...Like if they had went out and actually tried to lose on purpose, I don't think they could have done a better job.

I was hoping to see the culture change if nothing else, but it is still just a team full of quitters that will not do what it takes to win. The new guys have been infected with the same septic rot, and it just goes on and on.

I'm sorry I feel this way, I really am, but I now see no end to this sickness. I am 51 years old and already in bad health myself, and I will never see a real Tennessee Volunteer team in my lifetime. LWS has always been right.

Depressing but true. We need a top-tier coach to fix things. Problem is, the only guys willing to come here aren't top-tier coaches. Which means we have to get lucky with some up-and-comer, and the chances of that working out are really low, because they have to build the program from scratch.

We may just be stuck with Pruitt until he figures out what the hell he's doing.

There is zero excuse to lose to a Sun Belt conference team ever. But I pray to the fb gods they surprise everyone and go win their whole thing.
Because the only thing worse than losing to a SBC team, is to lose to the worst SBC team.

Just be glad you got to experience the glory years of the 90s. Many of the younger fans may never know what it feels like to experience good Tennessee football firsthand.

Has there been any word from the insiders? They all silent? I feel heads need to roll.
I only know of people connected to recruiting on here, except LA seems to talk to some on the hill. Not sure about inside the staff though, they seem pretty tight lipped.

They may know who they are but I've yet to see a player step up into any form of leadership role. So knowing is only a small part of the problem. The bigger part of the problem is actually addressing and correcting it. Dont see that happening.

Sounds like Smith, JJ and Warrior try. But change starts with the players wanting it and the coaches demanding it. No question, it's a problem.

This is what I'm curious about..

We know he's a relentless recruiter, but there's also a time to tone the recruiting down and coach the players you have. If all the Butch guys are thinking about being recruited over, at what point does it go from urgency of losing playing time to the idea of "the coaches don't care about my success, they only care about their guys"?

I heard a parent say that a lot of them felt this way from the beginning.

There was also no way GA St. was beating us .
Buuuuut. 🤷‍♂️
I'm not gonna mock you, because I hope you are right, but Georgia State is a better team than the Tennessee Volunteers...that is an undeniable fact. There is no reason, no excuse for this.

I hate to say it, but Pruitt is a failure, that is an almost undeniable conclusion you have to take from this debacle, no good HC would lose a game like this, and there is no hope on the horizon.
