A failing...can’t be gauged otherwise. Down one TD that soon in a game against this opponent? All the gloves off and you ride your horses...relentlessly. Georgia State didn’t start executing dead efficiently until after halftime...when I was counting on OUR coaches to make those halftime adjustments that a competent staff makes. I still expect a total 180 in this next game. If it doesn’t happen, there’s no sugarcoating. If it does, I can talk myself into thinking this epic loss was a wake up turning point for the program...until the next game.I'm thinking Pruitt and staff went into this game planning to rotate players as much as possible to learn what they have and what works. They stuck with that game plan too long and Georgia State was much better than expected.
Hopefully they find combinations that somewhat work, from studying game footage, and look much better prepared this weekend. I'm not writing this season off yet.
He’s Bo Nix quality...which makes your COACHING better. If Bailey stays committed I think we will be okay. At least with Bailey you have a QB that wants to win and has all the traits you want in a QB. Will he win us 10 games next year? Probably not, but at least he will take shots downfield, won’t hold the ball for 10 seconds, etc. I think once we get a winning attitude type QB in the system we will be okay.
Or I could be way wrong and be even more pissed next year.
It’s Brett Kendrick syndrome. Never the answer but we REALLY want a good story for him.How many years do you need to see Marcus Tatum fail to come to a conclusion? This other players showed flashes of greatness at some point. He has never played well, ever. MT has not been able to keep his athleticism with all the weight he has put on. Maybe he would have been a good jumbo TE which is what Florida recruited him for.
Also who the hell ever said Sutton couldn’t play?
You make that one or two plays and the team feeds off of it. You slide a yard short of first down with no defender even close and the rest of the team follows suit.Prime example of why JG should not be the starting QB. Never even looks at anyone else but his deep target. Never saw the blitz presnap. Had 2 people wide open to check down to. Especially Marquez Callaways guy other receiver would have blocked and Callaway probably would of scored or got close to scoring with 7mins left in the game.
Instead JG never sees it and get hit in the back and fumbles. Georgia state comes out and scores on the next drive.
JG is the reason we lost the game.

Don't take this the wrong way, but he never made it there. This play, and every passing play, are designed to be read a certain way. His read on this particular play appears to be right to left, long to short. An untouched secondary defender means he never made it past option 2.Prime example of why JG should not be the starting QB. Never even looks at anyone else but his deep target. My man. We have elite coordinators and plenty of talent to beat those guys. You don't get beat.. no.. DOMINATED by Georgia State even if you're a bowling coach coaching your first ever football game. He had 9 months of preparation. You just can not lose that game. You can't run -3 yards in the second half, give up 4 sacks to a terrible team, and forget to call timeout. Absolutely inexcusable for a HS Football coach, let alone at Tennessee.

Edit: I've not watched the film, so I can't be for sure at all.
