I took Dobbs for granted when he was here. What he lacked in accuracy, he more than made up for it in leadership and the "it" factor.
I played with a QB like JG, he liked the title but he had no leadership. He was arrogant, and felt like it was "his" team but he had no leadership abilities.

I never took Dobbs for granted. You had Bray who had a freaking rocket arm and could have incredible accuracy who would just seem to give up when adversity hit. With Dobbs, I honestly never felt we were out of a game until the clock hit 0:00 in the 4th quarter. Sometimes he started a little slow, and there were certainly times that he made mistakes that ended up preventing a comeback, but you knew it was always possible and that he was going to give his all for Tennessee to try to make a miracle happen. And he did so many times.

Prime example of why JG should not be the starting QB. Never even looks at anyone else but his deep target. Never saw the blitz presnap. Had 2 people wide open to check down to. Especially Marquez Callaways guy other receiver would have blocked and Callaway probably would of scored or got close to scoring with 7mins left in the game.

Instead JG never sees it and get hit in the back and fumbles. Georgia state comes out and scores on the next drive.

JG is the reason we lost the game.

I watched a little bit of the replay earlier. I know it's already been said but my goodness we approached the game like a scrimmage. It was just a mishmash of substitutions and formations and just no logic to who played when and where. At some point you realize the other team is actually holding their own and you stop with the ******** and put your best group out there and light a fire to secure the W.

Mostly agree but have to change the last line.
JG is ONE of the major reasons we lost.

Don't take this the wrong way, but he never made it there. This play, and every passing play, are designed to be read a certain way. His read on this particular play appears to be right to left, long to short. An untouched secondary defender means he never made it past option 2.
Edit: I've not watched the film, so I can't be for sure at all.

Also what was he looking at because no one was even deep yet. He is looking down the middle of the field......

JG will end up getting hurt & im not wishing it on him but as a player you can only take so many hits like that and one of them isn’t gonna be pretty.

VN reality tv.
Pumpers and optimists looking for the "other side" of things despite all current evidence.

On the fencers fell to the "well shitake, here we go again" side.

"negavols" and pessimists working overtime to water the seeds of disgust that have been sewn.
And so goes another day in the lives of the most abused fanbase in America..
Some of us optimists have turned into shitakers and negavols.

I guess trying to read the safety’s. He should have read that at the line. If your progress is left to right you always glance right before making your progressions.

It’s going to really suck when I have to tell Little he’s a genius. 😒

😅😅😅
At least wait to see if the coaches believe either backup will do any better, if it's Maurer over Shrout and if whoever does a better job.

It's TN, they may suck worse 😅😐😪

Ok...last post, then I'm going outside to mow before I work tonight but...

Am I just completely disillusioned by thinking this was the team and staff doing an absolute piss-poor job of preparing for a lesser opponent and looking forward to BYU? BECAUSE THAT'S WHAT I'M CONVINCING MYSELF.

I MUST BE INSANE.

I still think we beat BYU and Saturday is a "what the hell happened there" moment, when we look back on this season.

That's it. I'm insane.

I can fix her. I know I can. I love her. She'll change for me. It's not her, it me. She'll never do anything to hurt me on purpose, she's just testing the strength of our relationship. It's STRONG. I KNOW IT.

Has to be, man. Only explanation.

Which is in and of itself very concerning.

You make that one or two plays and the team feeds off of it. You slide a yard short of first down with no defender even close and the rest of the team follows suit.
JG sliding before getting the first down is the play that may have changed the whole game. We didn’t get the 3rd and 1 and had to punt.

Score there and the game is a lot different IMO

I hope we just underestimated that team and planned to use it as a scrimmage because we thought they had no shot against us. It just seemed to me that the guys didn’t care about the results, and body language was horrible for nearly the entire game. I remember looking over at my friend in the 3rd quarter and expressed that we were gonna lose that game because the body language of our players showed they weren’t trying to win. I hope we come out with a different mentality from now on. The effort from everyone involved in that game was beyond poor.

Never underestimate an opponent in any athletic endeavor. Train and plan to crush every foe you face with equal fervor, irrespective of their reputation. I saw it as you saw it. Tennessee took GSt, lightly and had their asses handed to them. It was a terrible mistake.

If true, prime example of overlooking an opponent. Makes me even more heated.

Meh. There are 2 options here.

1) we chose to prep ahead to BYU. We got beat.

2) we actually were very well prepared and we got beat.

Somehow #2 feels worse. #1 is fixable. But if we were actually prepared and ready for then and still got beat, that's really bad.

Or the 4th and 3 in the 4th quarter that was thrown out of bounds because you know who cares about putting themselves on the line to try and win a football game....

I haven’t went back and watched that play. All I remember was him scrabbling and not stepping up in the pocket.

Have we ever had a blow out game with him as quarterback? I admit, sometimes I wonder if he's afraid for us to see the other candidates at that position. We can't really be that bad, can we? Then I remember that this is the guy who has been the QB when we set all the records as the worst of the worst.
