Luke Fickell was hated as the coach at OSU and looked extremely sloppy game 1 against OSU .

Josh Heupel would be labeled Butch 2.0 after riding the coattail of Scott Frost and just managing a already good progam.

Armys offense would not work here.

I know nothing about UAB but is this really a route we would want to go down.

If we fire Pruitt, Les Miles or Mark Richt is the answer. We don’t need an up and comer. We need a proven commodity who can restore this program. Give me the proven Vet over an unproven guy any day. It’s where we are right now. If we have to move on from pruitt. Hopefully we don’t

we're gonna find out a lot about this team and staff this season Saturday night. lose, and it's gonna be hard to find w's outside UTC for a while....and that isn't a gimmie. lose the first two and you get a nooner with UTC where the G.A.S. level should be at an all time low....for fans and players alike.

if there's any chance for this team to find "it" this year it really needs to happen this week.

Miles is at Kansas and has zero pressure on him. Richt isn't coming to Tennessee to deal with Pruitt's mess. It's gonna either be an established 6-6 type guy or another up and comer with little to no experience.

Problem is Phil will see himself as that guy - not hire someone else.

Like @HankHill said, it’s gotta be the high school football mentality of making sure every player gets snaps at every position. You might be able to do that at Alabama and Georgia when you don’t have to play these guys for three years.

I'm not even judge Friend now. If the guy taking over the worst OL in the country is charged with teaching 15 different players at 5 different positions, he never had a chance at succeeding.

we're int he same spot we were 3 years ago. it would have been better for the program had Butch been the right guy. he wasn't. it would be better for the program that Pruitt is that guy. best i can give him right now is TBD at this point.

good coaches don't find ways to lose to teams like that.....but....good coaches get up off the mat and find ways to win too. so that's where he is imo. get off the mat, and find a way to do something NO ONE expects you to do now. he dug a hole. can he get out of it? he still has that opportunity......so he's got that going for him.

1. Seth Luttrell - North Texas (if you aren't familiar, get familiar)
2. Dino Babers - Syracuse
3. Bryan Harsin - Boise St.

If you're Pruitt don't you have to go to your guys except a few that you need after last Saturday? These upperclassmen are so battered from everything that has happened that it seems they're fine with losing and it doesn't seem like that will ever change.

Give me: OL - Morris, Smith (if healthy), Carvin, Johnson/Calbert, Wright
DL - Solomon, Emerson/Simmons, Middleton
LB - DT/Crouch, To,o'to'o, Banks and Harrison

Put the guys in that have the highest upside even though they may make a few mistakes along the way.

Unpopular opinion from a UAB grad and employee, but I think Bill Clark is a little overrated as a coach. Very personable, good recruiter, but his offenses are routinely very predictable, and he's had at least one terrible loss each year he's been here. I like the guy, and I hope he hangs around here for a while, but Tennessee should do much better than him, imo.
