Ugh, what the hell kind of cosmic warped bizzaro world did this team just enter into.........

I'm used to sucking as a Bengals fan, but, this was a very "odd" weekend.

All I know is it is fu***** football. Ain't rocket science. Don't need all the jimmy's and joe's to win big, and, these kids have been playing this game their entire life.

WTF is going on?

Get pissed, line up, beat the sh** out of the other guy, keep stomping on him , l don't care about the 15 yard penalty, show me something, anything, please. Coaches, issues/problems....I don't know, don't care. Players, same.

If there is any issue with player morale, fu** 'em and kick them to the curb now. I don't care if we play freshman at every position, but, can I please see a football game and not want to puke.

WTF....seriously.....why do my football teams suck!!!!!!!!!!!

The shuffling won’t stop because the starters won’t play well enough to justify keeping them on the field.

May not to an extent. But they weren't shuffling guys in and out Saturday because a guy blew an assignment or just couldnt play the spot.

Given what I witnessed Saturday they staff felt like from a W/L perspective it didnt matter who played and the gameplan resembled that. And honestly the team fed off that idea. I think the idea to play some of those guys that early and that much was born around the SC game last year. He wants to have enough depth that it's no longer a reason why you lose a game you can win.

The depth idea in and of itself isnt wrong. The method in which he tried to accomplish that however played a big part in that catastrophe Saturday. This may sound too simple but you have to control games before you attempt to get guys reps.
If he figures that out and moves on he can change the direction. If he doesnt, he will cause damage he cant recover from over the next 2 weeks.

If Jahmir was really taking underclassmen out to party the night before a game, his @$$ needs to be cut.
If true, then yes, but I will not deny he was one of the better linemen out there this weekend (Not saying much at all)
Actually now that I think about it, try Lampley out somewhere, kid bleeds orange and would give his all.

Sitting here watching some of the replay from Saturday.....and Jesus....Ive already lost count on how many times JG had a clean pocket with 2 receivers wide open and made horrendous reads and decisions with the football.
Watching the game live at the end of the 1st half. Guy jumped and he threw the football right at him.
Next play where they got PI, two guys covering our receivers, JG throws it to the guy covering underneath. I was like does he need glasses? WTF is wrong with his eyesight?

He can’t scan the field. He knows where he’s throwing before the snap
yeah. i didn't see anything from JG that led me to believe he was any different from what we saw last year. that in and of itself is a problem, and really imo, the biggest criticism of him thru 1 game.....

he's just the same. not worse. not better. same old same old.

saddest part, he still probably presents the best opportunity to win a game. so what are ya gonna do.........................

Not trying to pull the ive worked in this field card bc it really doesn’t matter but I’ve been around a handful football staffs, both successful and not, and I’ve never seen that before.
I get it in spring ball and maybe the first week or so of camp. But the best offensive lines play well because they know their assignments and they know what the guy beside them is doing 100% of the time.

I watched the entirety of the USF-Wisconsin game Friday night and Wisconsin was up 35 to nothing in the 4th quarter and still had the first team offensive line in the game and the announcers said Chryst told them he felt like they needed as many reps together as possible.

totally agree.

That's another thing that ticked me off. Pruitt never believed they'd lose. "Just keep experimenting and we'll fix it in the 4th".
Never seemed to grasp that we weren't capable.

I’m not sure I totally agree. I agree with you that they went into the game knowing they were going to shuffle everyone regardless to get everyone reps - but no matter who was out there, it was a turnstile on the offensive line.

They’re obviously not sold on anyone at any position. Which is why I don’t buy that the shuffling will stop. They did this all of last year too.

I can’t like this post enough.

I get that it may be tough to tell who are best 5 OL are (especially with Trey’s status always a bit in question), but at some point you’ve got to make that call and start letting them build some cohesion.

I think any short list should also include:

1. Seth Luttrell - North Texas (if you aren't familiar, get familiar)
2. Dino Babers - Syracuse
3. Bryan Harsin - Boise St.
Littrell could be for real. Turned down the Kansas State job so he has higher end goals. In my burg, and it’s a great atmosphere in Denton. Somebody Google the Mason Fine story if you dig college football...beats Rudy to ****. Babers is legit. Keep seeing Doug Marrone’s name floated and Babers outcoached him with the players he left behind. No one else came closer than Syracuse at beating Clemson last year. Harsin is another meh from the Boise State coaching assembly line of which Peterson was the only true star.

Other teams sub alot, Bama, UGA, and Florida. I remember that rube Gary Danielson prattling on during the Florida-Georgia game last year about how Kirby was substituting every play. It's not disturbing that we do it, it's disturbing we can't do it right. In modern big boy college football it's not an option not to do it. You've got to rotate in fresh bodies and match personnel. You can't not, well you can, but you forfeit any hope of being competitive if your players are worn out and you let the other team exploit match-ups all day long.

I still think we were probably rotating too much. There are several guys on a defense that can play a string of plays in a row. The other issue with our team is that the entire front seven (without Bituli) except Darrell Taylor are first time starters/contributors. Then, Burrell and Flowers are basically new too (Flowers got injured early last year). We were doing alot of rotation with guys who are still learning. Simplify it and keep your veterans out there.

They did. JG apparently has PTSD because with all the time he had, he still hit the fn stare down or check down. But ffs they can't run block for anything...
You're absolutely correct. I should have clarified pass protection. We couldn't open a set of automatic doors for the backs to run through.
