Vol Nation,

I don't normally ask, but I would appreciate any prayers, thoughts, and positive wishes. My wife just left for a 6 month deployment. We have a 4 year old and an 18 month old that are going to miss their mom and I'm going to miss my wife. I'm in the military too so this isn't going to be the easiest 6 months for all of us. I'm just pretty down right now and I'm grateful for any positivity thrown our way.
Thank both of you for your service. Prayers for your family. I was a Navy brat. I remember those days.

My parents are in fort Myers, zone A
There nervous
My other daughter and son-in-law live in Clearwater, but they live on relatively high ground behind the ridge that runs down Pinellas County. I have a lot of old friends down there though that live in those gated retirement mobile home communities inland...I am worried for them if the winds stay around 100 mph.

Off topic I know, but it was cool to see Jupiter in the eastern sky last night. I got out my extra strong binoculars to get a better view and could pick up and identify the red spot I had only ever seen in pics. Glad I had a clear sky and was able to see it.
Is this code for you were peeping on your hot neighbor?

We played such soft coverage that we didn't make it hard for him.
oh, i agree. and i don't think it was the plan necessarily to play it THAT soft either. add in the awful tackling....and that's what you get. it was frustrating for sure. i'm just glad we won, and it didn't bite us in the butt.

it'll be interesting to see how we game plan going forward. there's some different match ups ahead, and with the weapons UGA, Bama, UK and even LSU have, they'll all present some different challenges. we picked a way to defend against FL and stuck to it, no matter what. i think it's good that in the two big games we've had, we won the 1st one because of our defense, when our offense was a little flat, and the 2nd one, we won because our offense was awesome, while our defense floundered.

regardless, i think we're going to have to live with some degree of porous pass defense going forward. pretty good against the run, better than you think from a pass rush standpoint....but not great in the back 6 or 7 in zone or man to man.

if we don't turn it over....it may not matter lol. i'm convinced we can/will score on just about anyone. not sure we'll be able to simply outscore Bama or GA....but i think we can make both of those games interesting enough to get a little excited about, and make them a little nervous. never know....i'm not scared of LSU or UK, i think we can beat both teams. but both teams are capable, i think, of beating us if we provide them with opportunities to do so.

so for me, the rest of the year is about really limiting/eliminating offensive miscues...penalties that take 2nd or 3rd and short to 2nd or 3rd and long, turnovers, and special teams miscues. be opportunistic on defense. and see what happens.

Prayers for sure. I have been there, as the deployed, and I know that the family that stays behind has it hard too. Prayers for you, your wife, your kids, and all the families that serve our great nation.

LSU losing their DT is going to be huge. They also have to face Auburn this week so could be even more banged up when we show up.

Not sure who will be the hot hand, but I think someone rushes for 100+ on LSU. Sampson, Small, Wright, or Hooker all getting an extra week to get fresh legs for it. And you know Sampson WOULD LOVE to have a big game in his home state against a team that didn't even recruit him.

If Tillman is back and ready to go I think we'll really be dialed in on offense in both phases. They played a pretty clean game against the Gators and if not for the 2 fumbles we would've hung 50 on them.

Tricky week for LSU with all the rain and playing on the road. AU obviously is not good but i would like for them to atleast make it tough on LSU. Best chance for AU is to embrace the chaos with the weather. The LSU O Line is still not good.

I've probably watched the Florida game 5 times now. It was a great day Saturday.
I’ve watched the very end as the CBS theme is playing at least 25 times. That song will always encapsulate SEC football to me (even though we won’t be hearing it in that context soon) and for the most part when it’s been playing it’s been bad news for the Vols. But hearing it in all its glory, a big fat “33-38 FINAL” plastered on the screen…goosebumps.
