And such a meh pickup at the time. Just another alternative to bringing back JG was the most gusto I could conjure at the time. Most likely wasted under Chaney/Pruitt. Bet he celebrates Heup’s hire date for the rest of his days.I will say from a talent standpoint I think Hooker is probably the best we've had since Manning was here.
Bray might have had a stronger arm...Dobbs better legs...but I can't think of another QB with the overall talent on par with Hooker since Peyton was here. And it seems like Joe Milton might be even more naturally gifted!
And still not in shape! That’s a freak. Was really impressed with Bru McCoy. It’s clear the dude is a dog. Always fighting for extra yardage. Outside of that, go watch Hookers long run (he breaks a tackle in the pocket around midfield). At the end of the run Bru is doing some serious blocking on the safety that probably gets Hooker an additional 15 yards. Eventually takes their LB running up from behind to push Hooker out
Heupel/Golesh have done a great job right before halftime so far this season, but I would really like to see us close out a game strong. Pitt and FL we messed around and gave them chances, gotta go for the jugularyeah, agree on the schematics and play calling this week, we saw stuff we hadn't seen all year, so that was good, they're really dialed on what they want to do, and when. personally, while i want to beat both UGA and Bama, i have not yet gotten to the point where i've let myself believe that could be a reality right now.
That said, when the schedule came out, outside those two games, there wasn't another game that i felt was an L. i didn't think we'd go 10-2 mind you, but it wasn't off the table either. that, in and of itself, was a nice change. it's definitely on the table now.
and i'll just say that i wouldn't be "shocked" if we pulled a big upset along the way. but it'd be a big upset, make no mistake.
If I did it into a pool, I'd still break something.View attachment 494889
As a 52 year old man I would probably jump into a pool trying to catch a football like that, but to do it knowing I’m about to hit hard ground. I’m out. I would surely break something. LOL
That hurts but oh so true. I’m also planning on things to do when I bend down to pick something up… Tie my shoe, maybe I’ll pick up that toy, might as well go ahead and sweep the Cheerios into a pile before I make that commitment.

Absolutely. Deployments are in many ways tougher for the family that has to stay home than they are for the soldier that has to leave. Prayers for all of you.Vol Nation,
I don't normally ask, but I would appreciate any prayers, thoughts, and positive wishes. My wife just left for a 6 month deployment. We have a 4 year old and an 18 month old that are going to miss their mom and I'm going to miss my wife. I'm in the military too so this isn't going to be the easiest 6 months for all of us. I'm just pretty down right now and I'm grateful for any positivity thrown our way.
In my 30s and "taking a fall" aka my body falling into the ground at any speed whatsoever sounds excruciating. Would for sure be the end to my month.View attachment 494889

Really want to drag you for your disrespect to the notion of capitalization...but then I realized you don't even capitalize your own name.oh, i agree. and i don't think it was the plan necessarily to play it THAT soft either. add in the awful tackling....and that's what you get. it was frustrating for sure. i'm just glad we won, and it didn't bite us in the butt.
it'll be interesting to see how we game plan going forward. there's some different match ups ahead, and with the weapons UGA, Bama, UK and even LSU have, they'll all present some different challenges. we picked a way to defend against FL and stuck to it, no matter what. i think it's good that in the two big games we've had, we won the 1st one because of our defense, when our offense was a little flat, and the 2nd one, we won because our offense was awesome, while our defense floundered.
regardless, i think we're going to have to live with some degree of porous pass defense going forward. pretty good against the run, better than you think from a pass rush standpoint....but not great in the back 6 or 7 in zone or man to man.
if we don't turn it over....it may not matter lol. i'm convinced we can/will score on just about anyone. not sure we'll be able to simply outscore Bama or GA....but i think we can make both of those games interesting enough to get a little excited about, and make them a little nervous. never know....i'm not scared of LSU or UK, i think we can beat both teams. but both teams are capable, i think, of beating us if we provide them with opportunities to do so.
so for me, the rest of the year is about really limiting/eliminating offensive miscues...penalties that take 2nd or 3rd and short to 2nd or 3rd and long, turnovers, and special teams miscues. be opportunistic on defense. and see what happens.
