i was pretty dejected when they downed it at the 1. but i knew there was enough time...i told my dad that if we got any points on this drive before the half, it'd be crushing to Florida. come out with the 1st possession of the 2nd half and score again, and it's gonna get real hard for them to keep pace.

and the fact that it played out that way was the most important sequence of the ball game, and for me, was the sequence that spoke loudest to me that this team is, in fact, different. i know how the game ended, and we were all on pins and needles....but how we ended the 1st half and started the 2nd.....i was pumped. that was sooooo the opposite of the MO that has been Tennessee football for the past 10+ years. we've wilted so many times in those situations and seen other teams get the 2 for 1 like that against us....it was great to see us be the ones to really apply the pressure to the opponent.

at the end of the day, despite the obvious issues we do have, that we go out each game intent on dictating our game to the opponent is just.....great. that we're successful at it...even better. :)

we're not gonna win every game we play. but there's not a team we'll play that won't figure out pretty quick that we're a problem..........and if you give us half a chance....we're actually capable of beating you....badly for some opponents.

so we're 4 games in and the UK and LSU games, imo, are the games that decide the, what has already been a successful, season. i'm more hopeful now about the Bama and GA games, but i haven't changed my mind on actually winning either. and if we are able to beat LSU, our floor goes to 9-3 imo, and at that point, it's all about beating the absolute crap out of Kentucky...... if all goes well...we probably roll in to Athens 7-1, probably still well inside the top 10. and we're playing a game for the SEC East. and probably another shot at Bama.

wouldn't that be cool.................................................don't wake me up.

that is and was the difference we are trying to score when we get the ball and other teams run out the clock. May get us one day but why kneel with time outs etc. I do not get that at all. At least make the effort and see where it goes.

I just don't care that much. I wouldn't. If we do, oh well. And I do think playing in dark colors when it's hot is a problem. Even if only a small one nowadays with the improvements in clothing tech. There's a reason LSU always wheres white jerseys vs purple afterall... Or there used to be for the lower tech apparel days of yore.

LSU wears white at home because their coach, Paul dietzel, who had a history of altering his uniforms, wanted to be different considering nobody else wore white at home.

They continued wearing white at home because they won the national championship that season. Has nothing to do with the heat.

They literally wore purple just this past weekend at LSU.

I still question his processing speed. Feels a bit like Bailey back there or...still yet...Milton 2021. He definitely seems to have a grasp on his deep ball now (that's huge), his medium passes are downright bullets, and imo he has slightly better legs than Hooker, at least breakaway type stuff.

Just need to see more from his processing. Everything else has 1st round potential. And if anyone can progress him, it's CJH.

I'm no doubt excited to see him as the man next year. Going to be wildly entertaining one way or another.

I actually don't think that's true. Hendo's basketball days I think actually hinder his running a bit. He tries to stutter step, juke, or spin too often and often slows down to do it. Milton is a very upright north/south type runner. Both are very fast but when one just makes the cut and goes versus the other being willing to dance around more it makes Milton look like a better runner when he's really just a big fast runner. He rarely makes anyone miss in the open field like Hooker or Dobbs can.

I don't know which one of you this was, but if I was video taped it would have been the exact same.

I'm surprised he didn't put his first through the TV when Florida recovered the onside.

I went straight into a deep dark depression and just started saying NO, PLEASE NO, PLEASE NO. Lol

Granted last year's class was pretty weak, but there's not a single guy on that list I think is better than Hooker. Hooker's on pace for 3800 yards and he didn't play most the 2nd half in 2 of the 4 games he's played so far.
Yeah it’s tough picking up which QBs will go where in the draft. A lot of great college QBs who don’t get drafted in the first 2 rounds.

Hendon has the size, maturity and intellect for sure. I don’t think he has the arm talent for a high round pick. Don’t think he’s a runner at the next level either. I’d say his accuracy is fair. Amazing QB to watch in college though.

I cannot wait to whoop BYE's backside this weekend! Gonna be another glorious W in the win column. BYE can't keep up with our offense, and I think the defense improves dramatically and pitches a shutout against them. Gonna be another great weekend to be a Tennessee VOL!
Not sure how beating up on Brigham Young Elementary is beneficial. A win is a win I guess.

Danny Wueffel is the QB that helped me finally understand that being a good college QB was not a direct correlation to being a great NFL QB. Arm strength and the ability to throw in a miniscule window is paramount at the next level.

That said, I just want a great college QB at Tennessee, let the rest fall where it may.

He's already set the single season completion % for TN QBs at 68%...and he's on pace to break that this year. To call his accuracy fair is just a horrific take.

The only reason anyone will hesitate about Hooker being taken in the first 3 rounds is his age. If he stays healthy and continues to play as well as he has he'll be wearing a suit and sitting front row for the Heisman awards ceremony this year.
I mean even last year he would have had a strong chance of going in the first 3 rounds.
75% 316 passing yards 4 TDs 0 INTs and 41 yards rushing on the road at Kentucky
68% 282 passing yards 3 TDs 1 INT at Bama

And he only had 30 attempts or more in 2 games. He's as accurate with his deep ball as any other QB in the country and elite running skills don't matter in the NFL for a QB. He will be just as mobile as Daniel Jones or Josh Allen are.

Hooker plays in the veer and shoot…….most don’t think it translates to the NFL…. He might get drafted but will probably be later.
