I watch his show, but somehow didn’t know it was 100% computer generated. Crazy that we’re an unbiased #5 on his “model.” (Assuming he uses his betting model for his poll.)

Even still.. he’s always been very quick to defend Tennessee. The local radio guy I’ve mentioned, Marc Ryan, has gone to war with Pate when he appears on his show here over Tennessee.

His producer is a big Tennessee fan. So he probably has a good perspective on the Vols from him.

It’s a good way to deflect criticism. He doesn’t cross me as a guy to shy away from it though. His betting picks have been pretty bad this year, and he got pretty heated at guys blaming him for losing money. “What you do with your money isn’t on me. You’re a grown man trying to blame someone else for your decisions. No one made you make that bet.” Something to that effect.

Unnecessary Roughness mentioned that Pate's "team" was playing in our game, but didn't say UF or UT. Just chuckled and moved on.

I wouldn’t be surprised if he was raised a Tennessee fan and just doesn’t mention it to keep his unbiased image.

His show has a lot of Tennessee in it, and always has despite our irrelevance. He even defended the Ole Miss game’s actions when literally no one else in the media did.

It's also weird because all of his big memories/stories before he went into media are all Bama-centric.

I think that can be explained by him going to the playoffs every year since they started. By default bama would be in those memories. He used to constantly talk about how blown away he was with the first UGA/Bama title game and how he managed to get the play-sheet for Bama after the game ended before he went mainstream.
