The man is a national treasure and I strongly feel the Egg Bowl should have a joint press conference prior to the game for Leach and Kiffin
I tired of the Pirate years ago, but I am down with this, provided Kiff the backstabber is gagged. We just see him squirm and turn red and gesticulate when he can't answer back and the Pirate is yapping away.

I disagree. We have had two recruiting classes. Most starters on the D line and all the starters at linebacker were hold overs. Yet they are playing well. D line is very well coached and the linebackers look much improved. That’s coaching. The DBs look lost and laughable in zone defense. No one takes a man when someone enters their zone and always keep their eyes on the QB instead of players too. That’s poor coaching. I am not sure if that is on Martinez or Banks. But when your DBs look lost so much and you keep calling a scheme that doesn’t fit them, that is a coordinator problem to me. I don’t hate Banks, but if you compare him to a lot of the other DCs on the SEC, you would probably take a lot of the other DC’s. We are paying him handsomely for the 96th rated defense in the nation and we haven’t even played a good offense yet.
You must've missed my breakdown the other day.

The secondary is the lowest rated unit on the team. 13/14 are 3* with an overall average of 86. Jaylen McCullough is the only 4*. And since 2017/2018 the only other 4* DBs that have come to Tennessee are Bryce Thompson, Alontae Taylor (ATH), and Key Lawrence. We have not recruited well at these positions, and it's astonishing how thin we were behind Taylor and Thompson.

There absolutely is a talent issue. Coaching can also be an issue, but you have to fix the talent shortcoming first.

We have 6 DBs committed for 2023. 3 or 4 of them are 4* players and higher rated than any of our current DBs. Our lowest rated DB commit is rated higher than 10/14 of our current DBs. Overall average of the 6 is 89 (3 higher than our current depth chart).

Who are these guys coming to play for? Martinez. Do you know who recruited the majority of the highest rated DBs we've had since Fulmer? Martinez. He's put a lot of players in the league over his career just like RG has.

Wasn’t Banks a db coach before?

After watching this weekend…I think it should be 1) Ohio St. 2) bama 3) DogA’s until proven who’s gonna continue to play out and wins. A few plays DogA’s lose there game. BumA’s Qb. uncertainties….like a said earlier…that the way this weeks games went. I was glad we didn’t play lol
Someone’s hitting the bourbon early this morning…

To me what UGA did to Elijah Simmons (I believe) was actually dirtier - they had one guy go low and one go high. It was directly after Elijah came in and was disrupting middle of UGA’s OL. Then they did that which took him out the game.

All in this to say, F*** UGA.

I’m excited for this season and the future. But it’s not wrong to question some on staff who aren’t performing. I don’t care what a service says. Burrell was recruited by big programs, Charles was highly sought after, Flowers was a big target for Clemson, and Hadden was at Auburn. We have plenty of three stars playing well and coached well. Beasley, Garland (DL), Young, Bumphis, Spraggins, Tillman, Mincey, etc. Why not try Turrentine? Why not let Wesley Walker play corner? It’s not wrong to question things when your secondary is torched for almost five hundred yards.
This is my issue, with all due respect.

You're clamoring for two players to get thrown into the fire without ANY knowledge for why they're not playing those positions or getting as much time.

I think I'll go with the decisions of the coaching staff of an undefeated team and the DB coach who's put a dozen or more players in the NFL on why some players aren't ready or not a fit at a position based on their expertise and what they see out of these guys every day.

You'd think we'd've learned our lessons about this with the whole JG/Harrison Bailey thing... turns out the coaches were right then and they're probably right now - JG gave us the best chance to win over a freshman who still can't break the starting lineup at even a G5 school. Heck, just within the Florida game the forum was screaming for Turnage to get his shot... he repeatedly got torched when he came in then got benched. You just have to accept that the talent isn't available and put to rest the natural optimism we all have that there's a guy waiting in the wings who's going to show out when he gets the chance. Because that's rare. Not every backup is Hendon Hooker.

I think we have to say equally dirty. They absolutely did do that. He was stuffing the middle on the goal line effectively, and GA scored immediately after they intentionally and obviously injured Simmons.

Don't forget that they also deliberately and obviously targeted Hooker last year very early in the game. When the SEC office refs didn't call that, it sent "official" notice that GA was allowed to cheap shot at will. That affects the game. I think anyone with even common decency should despise Kirby and GA.

....All of this to say, F*** UGA.
Points awarded.

What part don’t you understand ? Did you not watch the games yesterday? Ohio state blew out there opponent and Georgia should’ve lost. Alabama played a close game until towards the end. Oh by the way with a fresh Qb with talents. But he plays a different style that the game was going. Until it plays out and or Qb shows more than in a relief ballgame. That’s the way I see it !

So what’s the consensus? We gonna handle LSU? I feel better about that game after yesterday.

Road games in the SEC aren’t easy. Just ask Georgia. I think the expectation for me is that we’ll win, but I still expect a hard fought, down to the wire game. Our defense has improved, but I still don’t think we’re blowing out any team this year except Vandy and maybe South Carolina with this defense.
