I know Chris Childers from Sirius XM is a big Vandy fan but i got a good laugh just now when he said "Its real possible that Vandy goes into the Bama game 4-0" haha

lets be real, Chris. You're total wins o/u is 2.5. Its not happening. Better get a couple wins in the first 4 weeks ( prob wont be more than 2) bc its not happening at all after that. They can barely fill out a DL this yr.

Wake with or without Hartman will score as many as they want. NIU gets Vandy in their stadium. They are the best team in the MAC.

He lives in nash but not a Vandy fan. He’s a Clark Lea fan bc Lea was at ND and Childers is a huge ND fan.

Also yes Vandy sucks

I’d assume is 1-7 is our way out of the Bama game without it looking like we wanted out. We could claim we asked for Bama but we’d obviously get Vandy and they’d get Auburn. 1-7 is the only lineup where we get any kind of “advantage” as we’d be the only team in the SEC who got to play Vandy every year.

In the end I think these changes help us some as we are at huge disadvantage in East currently being only one who plays Bama every year so basically we start the East race a game down. But they also are going to lead to overall harder schedules for us and making the SEC Title game will likely be similarly extremely hard as it already is for us.

The other East teams are going to get it the worst though. UGA won’t be dodging Bama anymore and have a schedule like they do this year ever again which is so much easier than TN and UF.
I believe it does level the playing field more by mixing up the schedules and opponents. I think the fixed games would be:
Bama- Auburn= Cause it's the Iron Bowl
Ole Miss- Miss State = The Egg Bowl
Georgia- Florida = Played every year in Jacksonville
Texas- Oklahoma= Red River Rivalry
LSU- Texas A&M= has been a pretty good rivalry since a&m joined the SEC
Ark- Missouri = Battle line rivalry
Tennessee- Vandy= We are Vandy's only rival
Kentucky- South Carolina =Both teams have other big rivalry games with Louisville/Clemson

I could see Texas- Texas A&M, LSU-Ark, and Oklahoma-Missouri but I feel it will be some combo of those 6 playing each other

What's the difference between them?
The pod model groups 4 teams together as permanent opponents.

Let's say that Tennessee, Vandy, Auburn, and Bama were in a pod together.

Auburn: Alabama, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, +6 conference opponents
Tennessee: Alabama, Vanderbilt, Auburn, +6 conference opponents
Alabama: Auburn, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, +6 conference opponents
Vanderbilt: Tennessee, Auburn, Alabama, +6 conference opponents

In the 3-6 model, you have three permanent opponents, but they aren't grouped together. You just play your rivals and cycle the other 6 teams home-away every other year.

I don't think that this projection is how things would play out, but it's close enough to be a good example:

See, Tennessee plays Bama, UK, Vandy. But UK doesn't play UT, Bama, and Vandy.

I just have to ask this question. Why after someone choked you, and you got away…would you go back to the room with a little kitchen knife if he were a huge football player that’s drunk and determined to commit bodily harm against you? Thank God she wasn’t injured worse.
I think sometimes folks don’t think straight in high stress situations. Maybe she just wanted him gone - not good thinking.

I remember when I was a Freshman at UT, Police Officers came to all the girls dorms and offered basic self-defense training. (I think there’d been a rash of rapes and almost rapes) No 1 was don’t try to use a weapon that can be used against you, because it will be. They talked about how to always carry our keys in our hands with one sticking out between our ring and middle finger to be used to poke into an eye if grabbed. Also taught us how to break a one hand wrist grab, etc. The number one thing we were told was travel with another and always, always (alone or with others) be acutely aware of your surroundings. And Run Away.

Awesome post. Thank you for the explanation! Makes sense. Wonder why Tennessee prefers the 1-7 vs. the 3-6?
