Would Neil Price make a good voice of the Vols?

-AP

yes please.

That clip surpassed the excitement level of anything Kesling has ever done.

We need an announcer than can keep up with the excitement of this offense/team and at the very least, get OUR own players names right. It's time for a new "Voice of the Vols"

*I'm glad others on different social media platforms are discussing it too. Maybe this will get the gears moving on finding a suitable replacement for Kesling.

Rewatching the game for like the fifth time and wow were we lucky they called PI on Bama in the end zone on the pass to Fant. Feels like that usually goes Bama’s way, they score another TD and win by 14. Not this time. What a magical game.

Yea that was a tough PI call. He got there early but it was a makeup call for the PI on Rucker so I'm good with it. Lol.

Bob Kesling:

Mike Keith:

"And here comes the student section. They're mobbing the field. They're mobbing Chase McGrath. They're mobbing Hendon Hooker."

That segment almost pisses me off. Notice the absence of exclamation points. He also pretty much made it up.

Thanks for your career and time Bob Kesling but for the love of God and Vols please someone make him retire.

Each and every one of us should be on the verge of tears hearing the UT radio call of that moment and instead I feel more like I had a nice bowel movement. Pleasant, but nothing to write home about.

I wasn’t there Saturday unfortunately but was there for several others on this list. I think the loudest single moment I have experienced in Neyland was the blocked punt against UGA in 2013. It got insanely loud when we blocked it — and then somehow got louder when we picked it up and took it in for the TD.
It sucks that Georgia won that game.

Neil is awesome. Used to listen to him call games on local radio when I lived in Starkville. Had no idea he was an East Tennessean

He's a great guy. In a past life, I ate dinner 4 or 5 times a year with Jack Cristil, who was the voice of Ms St sports for nearly 60 years. He always had the Monte Cristo. Jack was old school and didn't get excited but he loved the maroon and white and was as humble as they come. Jim Ellis was only slightly less old school than Jack but is a southern gentleman as well. Neil is the antithesis of both of those guys and that's a good thing IMO. All things change, even good things like Jack and Jim.

Edit: Neil being the antithesis is no commentary on his gentlemanly nature. He's just a different kind of sports caster than those two men.

If Mike Keith is not interested, I would love for John Wilkerson to get a shot.
John Wilkerson or the MSU guy (I'd like to hear a little more of his calls but that sample size posted earlier was great).

*John W. with Andy Kelly, Jason Swain, or maybe a 90s era lineman.

Hot take: I'm not crazy about Mike Keith.
