I get more nervous about games we should win, but the other team has players to beat us if we don’t play well…like KY. Most nervous I have been all year.
I was basically arrogant about Kentucky. Told people all week we're gonna drag them.

It's been so long since I felt this way... Good to be back.😎

I hope every voter watches this and realizes how ridiculous it would be to vote anyone other than Hooker
I thought he was gonna be the ND beat reporter that has us 6th or whatever it is (3 spots behind Bama). I remain unconcerned, focused only on TN & our next game.

So Georgia does have a ton of passing yards. But you also have to look at where it's going.

1st: Bowers 547 (TE)
2nd: McConkey 413 (WR)
3rd: Washington: 332 (TE)
4th: McIntosh: 266 (RB)
5th: Rosemy-Jacksaint: 192 (WR)

They only have 3 players with more than 15.0 yards per reception, their TEs and a RB who only has 4 receptions. So really the "secrete sauce" to contain their passing game is your 2 main CBs matchup in man/single on their main WRs and you use your LBs/Safeties to help out on the TEs. I haven't broken down a ton of their film or anything, but based on the volume and distribution with a lack of TDs in the passing game I'm assuming the majority of their attack is short yardage throws and over the middle.

2nd in SEC in completions (25.5)
2nd in SEC in attempts (37.6)
4th in completion % (67.8)
2nd in passing yards (328.1 pg)
8th in passing TDs (1.6 pg)
8th in rushing attempts (35.8)
4th in rushing yards (202.0)
3rd in rushing yards per carry (5.7)
1st in rushing TDs (3.5)

The stat that worries me the most, we're the 2nd most penalized team in the SEC 8.4 per game, Georgia is the least penalized in the SEC 4.0 per game. Put we also lead the SEC in opponent penalties at 9.0 a game, so hopefully we're able to score early and it forces Georgia to rush and take more risk than they want to which is why teams end up making mistakes against us.

I feel like our schedule has prepared us more for this game than theirs has, but they aren't inexperienced and did play a stout schedule last year.

youre right.....tons of throws in the middle of the field.

If you enjoy seeing other SEC programs battle dysfunction, check out Auburn message boards. The On3 mods reported that the university president was on the verge of hiring an AD (John Cohen from Mississippi State) but slowed down the process due to important parties (boosters and current coaches) not agreeing with the hire. The president contemplated his decision and, as of now, it looks like the hire will be made. However, the mods said that the boosters will now want more control of the football hiring process. Mods said that the university president has also semi-lost the trust of the boosters.
With the wrong President in charge, it is hard to be successful. With the boosters in charge, it is impossible

What I find encouraging is that against better defense Georgia's passing game hasn't been as good.

at Missouri: 54.5% 312 yards 0 TDs, 0 INTs
vs Florida: 50.0% 316 yards 2 TDs, 2 INTs

Missouri kept it close though because they were also able to hold Georgia's rushing game in check a bit. 169 yards, 4.7 YPC, and just 2 TDs with 2 fumbles
Florida couldn't stop the run though giving up 239 and 6.0 YPC for 4 TDs

Neither Missouri or Florida were especially great on offense either.
Missouri only managed 294 total yards on just 53 plays with only 1 TD offensively
Florida got to 371 total yards on 71 plays but only scored twice

Missouri wins if they didn't end up kicking 5 field goals and 5 punts.

The "horrid passing defense" for us is now up to:

#40 in opposing QBR (out of 131 teams - 70th percentile)

#51 in YPA allowed (60th percentile)

It may be just good enough to not hinder our ultimate goals.

Development is happening...

Vols are already playing well above expectations. And the defense was never going to “hold us back” bc the offense found a new gear in about game 3. The defense is doing it’s job even in games where we give up points like Bama.

Same. And Florida.

I think Florida is the most nervous game for me in football. They are never really clearly better than us, but we seem to always have close games with them. Alabama and Georgia have always had an advantage in talent since Fulmer left. So it's hard to be nervous going into those games when we're never favored.

Even if we lose to Georgia I don't think it derails much hype, we're in year freaking 2 and they've stacked top 5 classes for Kirby's entire tenure. Pressure is on them more than us. We're the road team that's still behind in the talent gap and recruiting. They're the defending National Champions who have finished in the top 10 the last 5 years straight.

It’s fake man. How can a greatest opponent be determined?
Chemistry in the ring. Like it or not professional wrestling when good takes a great amount of skill and coordination between two opponents. Not just any Tom, Dick, or Harry can climb into a ring and do that stuff no matter how "fake" someone thinks it is.

Same. And Florida.
Florida, I was. But that was before we knew what we now know about this team. And seeing them win the Pitt game, the Florida game the LSU game and Bama... We now know this team has the mental fortitude to not let a mistake keep beating you.

I'm fact this may be the most mentally tough, confident team we've had in 30 years.

For that reason, I was not worried about Kentucky. Further, if a team beats us it will be because they beat us, not because we puckered up and shrank in the moment.

That is the biggest difference between this team and any of the last 15 years, maybe even longer...
