No way they get in over us. We slaughtered them at home and they have 2 losses
I wouldn’t be so sure. They shouldn’t but it’s certainly possible.

What would be really interesting is if LSU wins the SECCG but Oregon, USC and TCU all lose a game? UGA, OSU or Mich, UT and LSU make the playoffs.

Depends if the committee takes conf championships into factor. Is the committee going to take a 2 loss conf champion over a 1 loss team? That 1 loss team thoroughly beat them down in their house. I think the committee will look at that.

So at number 5 if we win out, one of either Michigan or Ohio state will lose, TCU gotta win out, I mean our odds are pretty damn good right?

Most important part is to win out!

If we do that and TCU loses i feel like it's happening. An Oregon loss would be nice too!

Can't believe I just typed that in year two!

For whatever reason our playoff chances are treated like Hookers Heisman chances. The narrative now is that Hookers only chance of winning the Heisman was by beating UGA, and since he has a bad game he is essentially playing to just get a spot in the show but not to win. In the same breath the same ESPN guy finished saying that and followed it up with the RB from TX should be considered as a possibility to win. The same TX team that has 3 loses.
The narrative has become that we have to be flawless and undefeated in order to even be considered for anything.

They'd have a hard time making that call. . . but if they didn't put the 3 best teams in the country in, they'd lose all credibility. If the obvious 3 best teams happen to be from the same conference, you have to put them in. If that happens, guaranteed it'll be 8 or 12 team playoff next year.

The truth is that the real National champion is the SEC Champ.

Fact of the matter is either OSU or Michigan will boot the other.

That leaves 2 spots up for grab which means TWO of the following teams would need a dream scenario to both finish ahead of us:

TCU (4% chance of winning out)

LSU (14% chance of winning out with championship game - plugged in a very generous 30% chance vs UGA

Oregon (14% chance of winning out with championship game - plugging in a 50/50 chance in the conference championship)

USC (17% chance of winning out with a 50/50 conf champ game)

In total - this gives those 4 teams only a 6% chance of having any 2 win out.

Simply to say - win out and handle your business or else it would take a massive ton of madness to keep you out (and this is even assuming a 2 loss LSU or 1 loss Oregon/USC even WOULD get in over us)

But they need TWO at the end of the day, so let's worry not.

No problem with that. Everyone ahead of us is currently undefeated. Not all of them will finish that way. We just need to take care of our business. We do that, we should make it.

But I'm still rooting for anyone close to us to lose.
I pretty much agree with the rankings and feel like it will work itself out. I don't agree with how Rece and the crew were calling the GA game a "beat down" and a "blow out".

The narrative has been built

There is no narrative to keep us out.

Everyone involved would love if a program like Tennessee, with their supportive fanbase that travels, gets in.

More tickets sold at higher prices, more money spent at host cities, more people tuning in, more merch to sell, I can go on and on.

y'all don't need to worry about anything other than Tennessee winning their games. We are right where we need to be at 5.
ESPN has been pushing for Oregon to get in. Go back and watch the Gameday in Eugene. Hopefully Oregon loses a game and has no case to make it.

I want TCU to lose a game as well.

Hooker should win the Heisman and Heupel CoY if they just get Tennessee to 10-2. These people are either ignorant of or simply just ignoring the fact about what Tennessee was just 20 months or so ago. The roster, the lack of talent, etc.

It is miraculous if we make the playoffs and a borderline miracle finishing @ 10-2. Finishing 11-1 is straight madness with all things considered.

Would love Oregon to lose at some point.

So ideally, TCU loses, Oregon loses, and tOSU/Michigan loser.

Pull for Texas this weekend against TCU as well as Bama AND LSU the rest of the year (with the exception of SECCG). If that happens Bama and LSU stays in top 10.

We get in.
We need to pull for every team we have beat and Georgia. Anyone ahead of us and behind us needs to lose.
