If you didn't see the game, you need to listen to CBS excuse it. First in real time. Then again in this headline.

Ok... @SoilVol ..I have watched this through several times now, and that hard jerk down right there at the end is inexcusable, it looks intentional at that moment to me, and to me it looks like he realized what he had just done and immediately felt remorse for being so stupid.

IMO..Ole Miss coaches and players should be just as mad at the OL player that Turner ran straight by, that dude just totally whiffed...that was just an awful awful play.

Cooper Mays earned his first-career SEC Offensive Lineman of the Week distinction in the win over Mizzou. Making his 20th career start, Mays logged 75 snaps at center and did not allow a sack, a pressure or a quarterback hit against the No. 13 defense in the country, helping the Vols bulldoze their way for a season-high 264 rushing yards and 460 passing yards.

Mays is the fourth Vol to earn SEC OL of the Week this season, joining Spraggins, Carvin, and Wright.

Devo says they love us..
Here's my big question. If conference titles mean so much to this committee why not go ahead and rank the 1 loss teams still with a shot at their respective championships ahead of Tennessee? The recency success that any of those teams have will pale in comparison to Tennesse's total body of work. So you're telling me that a 2 loss conference champion LSU would jump Tennessee? Well what if they had 3 losses but still won their conference championship? Do they still deserve to be in the playoffs? Of course not. Conference championship games need to go the way of the dodo bird or every Power 5 conference should have the 2 best teams play each other in that game. Eliminate the split divisions in conferences.

Lauricella was, indeed, the runner-up in 1951 but Cafego finished 4th in '39. See 1951 Heisman Trophy Voting | College Football at Sports-Reference.com and 1939 Heisman Trophy Voting | College Football at Sports-Reference.com. Methinks that accounts for the 4 Tennessee players who finished second in Heisman Trophy voting: Lauricella, Majors, Shuler and Manning.
I know Cafego finished 4th. Guy said Heisman candidates. Didn’t want anyone to forget about Cafego. That’s all

Still can’t believe games are still relevant for us this late in the year! We’re following 3 races and have a real shot in all - CFP, Heisman and Biletnikoff.

CFP -
The classic take care of our business and look good doing it, and watch the others fall off the cliff. LSU and Bama gives us a nice little buffer from the other pretenders jumping over us

Heisman -
OSU QB Stroud and Michigan RB Corum will be Hendo Cinco’s biggest headache. Best remedy is to face one of them in CFP and roll them over. They’re now also pushing UNC QB Drake May but not watching that ACC garbage

Biletnikoff -
This is the one I really wanted to focus on in this post. We are WRU and have not won this ever.. what a travesty!

Hyatt has made it look way too easy especially in our toughest games.
* Most TD (15)
* Highest YPC anyone over 50 catches by far (19.24)
* Highest YPG at 112 per game at 76% catch rate.

Closest rivals are
OSU Harrison
* 11 TD, 16.2 YPC, 97 YPG, 68%
OSU Egbuka
* 8 TD, 16.3 YPC, 83 YPG, 70%
Washington Odunze
* 6 TD, 14.51 YPC, 102 YPG, 71%
UNC Josh Downs
* 11 TD, 11.5 YPC, 106 YPG, 86%
In other words, throw it up there and Hyatt catches them further, more often and ends up taking it to the end zone way more over others. He’s the deep play threat, he’s the possession guy, he’s every definition of what a receiver is in the book and does it better in all aspects than anyone else in the country.

He’s the best receiver in the land and we would be proud if this young man represents our first Biletnikoff and takes WRU back to where we belong.

13-1 GBO!

Heisman is awarded in December, before bowls & playoffs. Other than that, love your thought process (tho I still say post-season player awards are pretty much just popularity contests). I think Hooker will be in NYC, should win but who knows. I think some think he's a "system" QB.

I believe the Heisman announcement is before the CFP.

Oh I watch, only time I watch baseball or softball is to support the Vols.

But women’s basketball as a product is atrocious, at least softball is enjoyable and not trying to be baseball.
It wasn’t atrocious when Pat was leading the program. It was an exciting brand. It’s amazing that coaches can get to this level and not be able to coach basic fundamental basketball, much less have any remote offensive scheme to score. I’m baffled about it. My brother-in-law used to coach high school basketball for years. I have seen his kids play, and I promise he is WAY BETTER than Holly or pretty Holly.

Potattoes, potatoes .... so he released to his left - managed to roam right along the sideline and was pushed out of bounds as he ran along the edge. You can make a case that he stepped out just prior to the Ole Miss player gently pushing him out. The point is - reverse direction - throw the ball up into the endzone - don't simply go out as you are nudged out. He actually played pretty well prior to that and we could have still won with a little luck. But ideally, a heady qb, most qb's, would toss it into the endzone at least hoping for a miracle. Hooker more or less was in the same position against Alabama and we managed to draw pass interference and score. I will be his biggest cheerleader, but he does have subtle mental areas he can improve on. It is one of the reasons Hooker is Hooker, he is processing a lot each play and making a lot of great decisions. Peyton also did a fair job of studying film and understanding and reading defenses.

Sorry, some of us will not accept fact optional agenda driven drivel as an acceptable alternative to factual discussion. YOU shared a very strong declarative statement about the game situation that has been replayed many times that was not correct and even now trying to minimalize your error in order to embellish his. There is a fact for you. Do you really think PUSHED was an accurate reflection of the contact that ended that play? Yet another agenda driven word choice. You can't put those bullets back in the gun any more than he can. At least he does not live in denial.

Yep yep, and yet we all know the voters will find a way to give it to someone else, just like the Heisman, and probably even coach of the year. You forgot about that award. Maybe even assistant coach of the year with Golesh. Mark this down…if TCU stays undefeated and we go 11-1, they will give coach of the year to Dykes.

Let Arizona win tonight against UCLA.
USC and Oregon both win their remaining regular season games.
Oregon beats USC in PAC12 championship.

PAC12 is gone from the playoff.

(I’m fine with USC losing any game before end of the year too of course..)

Better if usc loses to either ucla or notre dame. Then the entire PAC-12 is irrelevant for the playoffs.

I want there to be no option for the playoff committee to choose anyone else other than Tennessee. It would be awesome if somehow osu jumped uga so that we play them…even better, osu or michigan gets in as a 1 loss #4 to play uga and we get TCU as 2 vs 3…

😈

13-1 🤠

Heupel should get it @10-2. . . 11-1 & the playoffs, there is no one close.
