I know. That’s what I meant by “for whatever reason.” It was Hurds decision. I get it, but I dont agree with doing that to teammates.
It’s over and done.

So last week all we had to worry about was Oregon. Now that they lost we have to worry about USC.

I was convinced that after the MCB last year that teams would just lay down drive after drive to make us go insane. I wonder if there was something behind the scenes to severely discourage it from happening.

I will happily admit that I was very wrong that teams would do it to us nonstop this year. Kind of surprised at the same time.

There is really no debate. That 2-loss LSU will not bump UT.

The committee will say “LSU beat Georgia, which clobbered Tennessee.” They will find some way to spin it. I’m not saying I think it’s what should happen. Just think of how wild it would be to have 2 conference teams in the playoff and you leave out the conference champion.

Again, so I agree? NO. I just have a very bad feeling and hope this doesn’t happen. I hope Georgia clobbers the Tigers on December 3rd.

Apparently, we're now being told to worry about Clemson, too. Truth be told, all we can do is keep winning, and winning impressively. After that, it's just hoping the committee doesn't screw us over. Winning the PAC-12 or the ACC championship game doesn't make them more impressive than Tennessee. Both of those conferences are weak. We deserve to be in the playoffs.

Let those of us who aren't suffering from BVS-induced delusions come to your aid. We're trying to tell you it won't happen, that it's ridiculous enough to not waste time worrying about.

I'd also argue that the fact that all our games have been sell outs both home and away and tv ratings leading the country to help our case as well.

One narrative changed! LSU was said until tonight to be in if the won out, and beat Georgia. Rece said he doesn’t think LSU gets in over the Vols with winning SEC championship. With our beat down on them head to head, we have a 2 game lead on them. Same as them having 3 losses to our one. I don’t see how this is any less plausible than any other scenario where we get in over a one loss conference champion.

Barring a ton of carnage in the last two weeks of the season, Clemson is out. I don’t why so many people are trying to drag them back into the conversation.

I also heard from the VQ guys that the reason Richt was fired after going 10-2 is because South Carolina was about to hire Kirby and the GA folks weren’t having it so they made the move

You can unpack a lot with this. USC hasn’t beaten anyone yet. Oregon State is their best win at 23 now, and they still have to play Oregon. So, Oregon State may not stay in the top 25.

Also, Utah lost to Florida, who UT and LSU both beat. I think these matchups matter. Utah beat USC.

As long as LSU and Bama win, UT will have the two best wins….by far.
