Definitely. And they could have taken last year as a “Year Zero,” sacrificed some wins to try and refine Joe Milton and get him ready to be the guy for the next couple of years, and made a million excuses as to why it was ok that they won 4 games.

But they didn’t. They made no excuses, made some tough calls when they had to, and they went out and won some ballgames.
Last year's team is my favorite since 1998; and that's counting the 2001 team. I've been waiting a long time for a team that plays their hearts out each and every game...and, that was with, maybe, 65 players.

Anyone listen to Vols Calls? I forgot about it. Is Tillman back?
Just now taking 1st caller

1st caller Melanie: "Hey coach, we beating Alabama this year?"😆. . .

Heupel says we're gonna see a lot of new guys making plays on special teams and the wrs are more in tune with what's going on. . .

Kelsey Pope and Golesh have done a great job with wrs and tes. . .

Coaches and players have worked hard and are looking to emphasize attacking Balls Tate.

Heupel is chill and says coaches and players are very ready and excited to play.

Vols are ready for round 1.

Will we see much of Bru McCoy?
Heupel: Absolutely! You will see a bunch of Bru running around out there Thursday. He's very important and will play a lot, but we have several guys who are gonna play a lot.

We have 2 QBs who can start. Milton has continued to grow and has become much better.

Heupel: Its definitely football time in Tennessee, let's go!

Tim Banks Up next.

Blinds.com commercial. #1 online retailer of custom window treatments.. . .

Talk to bamee. . . . let bamee fire people for you. $99 a month.

Ford Built Tough report next. . .
(10 second break for station identification) - Trevon flowers spokesman for alumnihall.com

Tim Banks: Entire d staff returning has been huge.

It feels a lot different than a year ago. More depth, more experience. Mitchell is back.

Loves our dbs. We have interchangeable dbs. Safeties can play corner, etc.

Have the pieces to move people around where they perform the best.

We have some guys who've stepped up. Jalen McCullough. . . Byron Young is a big-time player who's had a lot of growth. We'll see the fruits of his labor this season.

Emphasis on attacking the ball, hitting hard and creating turnovers. Be aggressive every single snap. Get to the ball and be violent when we get there.

D has worked hard on QB pressure and playing tighter coverage on back end.

Balls Tate is a MAC team, but they have several good players. They're a proud program who will be prepared.

T. McDonald is star. He's been very consistent in evrything he's done. His play has improved and he's a physical player. Wesley Walker will play too.

A lot of experience up front. BY, Baron, O. Thomas. . . best yet to come from them. We have a few impact guys, but we have to play by committee up there.

Banks believes we practice against the very best offense in the country and they are prepared and ready for round #1.

Rocket Money commercial. . .

Rick McGill's Airport Toyota is hiring.

Vitamins and supplements dont protect you from cancer. Eat good and don't smoke.. . .

More commercials. . .

Volunteer trivia:

First night game on Thursday took place sept 16 1972 against Penn State. . . How many rushing TDs did Hassle stanback have?

A lot, a lot of confidence and enthusiasm in the offense, the players and the coaches.

Generally a big-time jump in offensive production in year 2 under Heupel.

Cedric Tillman looks incredible. He will be better than last year. Everyone is excited about the culture and everything.

Gonna be extremely fun team to watch. It's a veteran team.

Team has prepared and expects to win every game.

Thursday night football!

Balls Tate v The Vols!

Guy at work today was taking about an incident that lead to a black bear ODing on pounds of cocaine in the smokey mountains years ago and a body turning up in the driveway of a home in Knoxville. I looked it up and it’s a wild story… they’re actually releasing a movie about it next year. It’s called Cocaine Bear.
