Listen guys we're on the Clemson trajectory. Before we become really good we gotta take baby steps and the lumps that come with them. Clemson would get blown out by mediocre teams early in Dabos tenure like West Virginia and NC State in 2011. Much like those horrible performances got Kevin Steele fired, this one and potentially two more will get Tim Banks fired. Then we'll land on an elite DC and eventually become elite

Clemson didn’t become elite until firing Steele and hiring Venebles. Let’s not wait to fire Banks, do it now and bring in a top notch DC and DB coach. Last night was inexcusable and Banks deserves to be fired.

That's what I'm saying. Once we fire banks then we'll get our elite DC and become good

I agree with most of the article…. The only part I question is that I hope this isn’t just a lucky season…. I’m hoping this is the start of building a dominant program…. I want to to move into the top tier of SEC teams year after year.
We have to build a stout defense to go with the high-octane offense. You have to be able to play BOTH sides of the ball. This is the SEC. As a conference, we made our reputation on tough defenses. Our defense is anything but. After last night, I'm of the opinion we have to go back to the drawing board when it comes to defense. No more of this just being good enough to stop them from scoring once or twice and then simply outscore them. That's bothered me all season, but I lived with it because we were winning. But last night was an embarrassment. And if truth be told, I honestly don't think Tim Banks is the right guy for the job. We need to do better.

And while I'm laying it out there, I'm just gonna go ahead and reaffirm that I think we need to replace Martinez as well. People keep saying he lacks talent at the position, but are you seriously telling me that he can't find even one serviceable corner?? I just don't buy it. I think we can do better. And I'm starting to question Ekeler as well. I love his attitude, but attitude isn't enough. My understanding is he coaches the Edge/OLB guys as well as being the STC. Well Special Teams haven't been special, and we struggle to generate a pass rush.

We cannot continue on playing bad defense and just hoping to outscore our opponents. We just can't.

New rumor from Twitter…. Banks was upset about NIL and had stopped going to classes…. Got into it with Hooker in the locker room before their flight…. Milton stepped in and punched Banks… I doubt that is all true but I’m going to reach out to my nephew this morning and see if I can get the scoop…..He still has friends inside the program and is how I found out that the orange helmets were coming for the SC game.

This feels like 2016 again. I have no doubt we will lose next week. Something was off yesterday and I hope the rumors are BS.
I hope they're BS too but it's the only explanation for the way the defense played last night. I understand there are off games but that was something I've never seen before. Literally came out of nowhere

This will be my last somewhat negative post.

For Heupel to truly break the post-Fulmer curse, he has to keep everything from falling apart. Games like yesterday caused everything to unravel for Dooley, Butch and Pruitt.

Will be very interesting to see where we go from here.

That is all

Man up. Woman up. Some of you having your pity party and asking for coaches to be fired after a loss. If this is your coping mechanism, so be it. Just know your post is another “like” on someone else’s fan board.
I personally feel terrible about Hendon. Love that man, that warrior, that VFL! Seeing him walk off like that is what woke me up at 4:45, not the loss. Be careful who you say quit. Maybe it’s you that quit. I’ll be screaming my head off for the team next Saturday.
True character is showed when people are in their lowest moments. You think you feel bad? Poor you! There are players and coaches that this absolutely demoralized. Us fans need to pick them up and not tear them apart.

Yeah worst part of this is we really don’t know. Dude may be totally innocent or there could be relevant details we don’t know that make it look worse than what happened. Some people swear it is true and I’m sure there are people on VN that know something, but I remember all of the “insiders” who emerged every time there was another coaching search.
Speaking of rumors--reading my memories on Facebook this morning-- We had fired Dooley, in 2012 we had landed the "big fish" according to insiders. I guess maybe they were right, Butch Jones was a big stinking fish.

Paxton Brooks should have just whooped everyone's ass and set them all straight.

Given the effort of the defense last night, it's hard to believe any of them feel worse than I do. They didn't seem to care at all.

You can always upgrade staffwould end up but our corners are Hadden who transferred here bc he was down the depth chart at Auburn…. Charles who the staff views more as a safety….. slaughter who is a safety/nickel….. turnage who never got any burn at Alabama and was way down the depth chart…I was hopeful that Dee Williams or Rucker would end up viable options but they both seem to be way behind the rest…. Can’t wait wait till this group of DB recruits gets on campus…. We need some solid transfers but there usually isn’t many good DBs that transfer each year.

We can get into the top tier, but its going to take better recruiting. Having the Jimmy's and Joe's is how you assure you don't get embarrassed by the likes of this SCjr. team. Yeah you might lose a close game (i.e. UT/Bama this year), but that is the only way it happens...or maybe you QB has a really bad night and throws a couple of pick-6s. But we, for the most part, made Rattler look elite. He did make a few nice throws, but all in all it was just too easy for him.

This was the year to make the playoffs. It sure as hell won’t come close next year. Milton just can’t make the simple throws and reads to keep the offense running at a high efficiency.

If rumors about J Banks are true, then seriously eff that guy especially as the University gave him a huge second chance.

Banks/Martinez need to be gone today.

Then he would just be sick and not have these rumors floating around.

From several creditable posters from other boards; he wanted more NIL money, didn’t show up to practice, Hendon confronted him about it and a heated discussion occurred leading to him not making the trip on his own. I think that has created division within the locker room causing the team to look so flat.
wow what a house of cards

Surprise…. Surprise but Tyler Bray has quit on the season…. Seems like I have seen that movie before.

Tyler Bray had a ton of talent and was done a disservice by not being developed by coaches. Even so he and his fellows gave up as soon as they had a couple of setbacks. I do blame Dooley and his staff for misusing the talent he had so badly, and not building the right culture, but players themselves eventually decide how much effort they play with. Not quitting has been one of the real positives under Heupel with the exception of what happened last night, but under his last 3 predecessors it was very common once the players no longer had faith in their coaches.

We didn't even get any free cookies this season. Maybe Tillman can score twice against Vandy to get us some free cookies.
