My concern is for the long term, next year and beyond. If the locker room is truly divided with players resentful and turned against each other, that's not an overnight fix.

We've all heard how Tennessee was not interested in players that were solely focused on NIL. What about current players on the team that seem to be solely focused on NIL? Do those players get purged? We saw how preferential treatment and dishonesty destroyed Butch's teams. Yes, NIL is a form of preferential treatment regardless of whether it's implemented by coaching staff.

Does anyone remember the commentary a few games back that said whenever Heupel had a great offense, his defense was terrible and when his offense was average, his defense was good. Well next year might just set up nicely.

Swore I would not be on here today, but here I am. Deflated as the rest of yall.
Learning the rumors of the Banks deal, and damn, I hope that they are not true! That would be the epitome of selfishness! Granted, 1 player does not make a team, but something was just completely off all night on defense, and the bled over to the offense.

It’s already started. I got a screenshot from a friend from VQ where the post stated that Heupel has peaked, and it’s the beginning of the end. It’s coming, and McGill called it.

Disappointed, but not overly surprised other than be the degree the D quit. That was worse than Sunseri level bad. It has been off since UGA. Beat Vandy and we win 10 games. Every single poster on here would have taken that preseason. However, I have zero confidence that will now happen.

What hurts is the D. Too much pressure on the O to score a lot of points. Opposing DC's watch the tape of our games and get reads on how to defend us. They learn the tendencies of the play caller (Heup) and the QB (HH to CT), etc. You need to win with better defense sometimes.

Several of us in our watch party were calling our and USCe's offensive plays before they happened. For example, until later in the game, every time we got a first down on O and rushed the tempo at the LOS, it was a run up the middle with Small for two yards or less. They have done that every game for two season. Every time USCe ran motion to one side of the field to our side with less defenders Rattler threw it to the receiver in the flat for a big gain. We knew, but our staff and players didn't. All year long Hook threw long passes to Cedric unsuccessfully. Why? CT is a possession receiver, stop trying to hit bombs with a guy who is slower. You have three better options available. Use him on the shorter routes and fades in the end zone where his size and strength are assets.

It's that simple and that complicated as well. They are two seasons in now. Heup and White know the primary problems are on D with coaching and players. It's up to them to make the changes. Condition that CRG remains as D-line coach, whom most accomplished DCs would be thrilled to have, and fix the staff. Failure to do that and Heup's stay on the hill will be shorter than he and any of us would ever want.

There will always be random fans stating stupid sh&t…. We just can’t allow it to make the entire environment to become toxic like it has before.

This is the new challenge of coaching, managing players expectations as to NIL dollars. You've got a team full of players that will be full of envy over other players getting more money. Jealousy will be a constant. It will fracture teams. It will ruin chemistry. This was predicted when NIL was announced. It's coming to fruition.

I mean there are always two sides to a story. Maybe Banks (if the rumors are true) was actually pissed that since some of these guys got those big NIL deals they have been playing like doo doo and finally got tired of it.

Hard to distinguish between true fans and troll fans just looking for attention and cause disharmony. Have several on this board in the latter category. 🤷‍♂️

I would agree, but there are non-troll fans hinting at it too. Even after a game like that, never in my mind would I think that Heupel would be in danger.

I mean go back and watch Tillman…. Dude played awful. There was a pass from Hooker that landed on the sideline (he could have got his hands on it) and he pulled his hands back and then wanted a flag.

Go to Hyatt who pulled up on a route that landed about a yard in front of him…. Missed like 3 passes that hit him square in the hands on big plays that caused us to turn the ball over.

There were issues going on…. If Jeremy Banks was pissed about it, it’s probably because those same players haven’t been playing very well since they got their Big NIL deals.

Top DC names anybody? Preferably one that doesn’t struggle with incontinence when goals/dreams are essentially gift wrapped for you as long as you can put on your pants and tie your shoes.

Honestly, I think last night was bound to happen as much as I hate to say it. Our DB’s have been by far our weakest link all year and our D-Line has helped them out tremendously and covered up even more than we thought.
Getting to 10 wins with the defense that we have has been a great coaching job by Heupel and I think once everyone gets over the frustrating loss, we will all see that. We are still in year 2 and are probably going to a NY6 bowl. I would’ve taken that in a heartbeat before the season.

Nothing has changed my mind as far as Heupel being the guy, but last night was embarrassing. The worst part is we spent all year making fun of Beamer, just to get embarrassed like that. Sad.

Yeah Hadden needs to not play again, I mean come on man you didn’t make a stop all night and after every play on you, you were talking crap? Lol

Like in what world is that even okay…. It’s not okay to talk crap anyways, but to do it after you’ve been beat over and over again 😂 get the clown off the field. It was so bad even the Head Coach of the opposing team was basically telling him to shut up and play ball.
