Don’t disagree, but if we want to beat GA and Bama every year we absolutely will have to. The USC loss is inexcusable but these games happen, for whatever reason. I’m simply saying if we want playoff hopes on a consistent basis it goes through them. This was a Cinderella season where the stars aligned, but here we are. It’s rare that we lose to USC, buts it’s also rare we beat Bama, GA, and FLA.
The point was Clemson doesn’t have this problem so I don’t think the early Dabo years are a good comparison for us.
Every program including Georgia is going to have this now. It’s not going to be unique to Tennessee. Pandora’s box is open and all fans will need to adjust to the fact that the NCAA is now professional sports. My concern is for the long term, next year and beyond. If the locker room is truly divided with players resentful and turned against each other, that's not an overnight fix.
We've all heard how Tennessee was not interested in players that were solely focused on NIL. What about current players on the team that seem to be solely focused on NIL? Do those players get purged? We saw how preferential treatment and dishonesty destroyed Butch's teams. Yes, NIL is a form of preferential treatment regardless of whether it's implemented by coaching staff.
I want to see more young guys next week, I have seen enough of some of these seniors.Yes! We were better with Slaughter at safety. But Martinez loves to play upperclassmen. I would play the walk on and Charles at DB unless Turnage is ok. I hate practice warriors, I only care about what happens under the lights and Turnage has played well since being allowed to play. Haddon continuing to play being awful was dreadful to watch. And Bumphus gives his all, but he is too slow. Put Pearce and Joseph in to bring some pressure with Young. Omari and Terry needed to play way more. The small packages with Baron and Eason weren’t working so stop forcing them. And Mitchell playing all night wa awful. He is terrible and a waste of space on the field. Let Herring play, he has played well all year when given the chance. I’m just at a loss of words for our defensive coaches decisions with personnel all year and not making any real changes. Only person who has their unit playing well (except for last night) is Garner. Every other group has not play well.
Banks has never been the sharpest tool in the shed and has always been a hothead. He has been one of my favorite players with a good redemption story and i always cheered him for it. But if he is the root of all this... F*** him for not learning anything and takin what he's been given for granted. Fool me once, not twice.
It’s ironic that they wanted to be paid and now that the real world has hit some of them, they get upset. Reality check-it’s the way the world revolves. Exactly what happens on an NFL roster.
The Vanderbilt game will say a lot about both the player leadership and the coaching staff’s leadership. Will the senior leadership and coaches be able to pull the locker room together again and rebound after the loss and address the rumors or will things continue to get worse. If we lose to Vanderbilt then you would have to really question the coaching staff’s leadership
**** banks if the rumors are trueHe’s the root of all what? You think it’s Jeremy Banks’s fault we got boat raced by USCe?
I bet you won’t tell him f him and he’s not that sharp to his face. That makes you a pu**y.
I 100% disagree with this opinion. CJH has taken this program from possibly the worst situation an SEC program has seen and put us in the conversation of the CFP. He deserves a raise and a big one.We gotta stop extending and giving HCs raises so soon. He didn't win the east or make the playoffs. That should be the bar. Just another taxslayer bowl appearance shouldn't get him squat.
I read that here and I heard for myself AP saying "may be an elbow," which makes no sense. But if you listen to Heup's post game (I just heard it) he said this one needs to hurt and it needs to hurt for the people who didn't make the trip. That's not a thing to say about someone sick. And an injured player usuallly makes the trip in street clothes.
Agree to a point but Georgia and Alabama have been dealing with this before NIL so I think they've got a heads up on everyone else.Every program including Georgia is going to have this now. It’s not going to be unique to Tennessee. Pandora’s box is open and all fans will need to adjust to the fact that the NCAA is now professional sports.
It looked more like medial stress vs a hyper extension. I’d guess MCL/meniscus but who knows
Also, I'm calling Zach Arnett immediately, and I'm not hanging up the phone till he says yes
