I just watched all of his throws against Vandy. It's out there on Youtube. He had 6 throws that were incomplete that I would consider deep balls. The one to Fant was roughly 20 yards and off his finger tips.

Of the 6, Keyton flat out dropped one. So, that's really 5. One early in the game, he was trying to fit it in between a CB and safety and wisely missed on the outside. It was a tough pass, and missing inside might have been an INT. The three to Squirrel that he would probably want back. One to Hyatt that was 2 yards long. Hyatt might have laid out, but I understand why he didn't.

I want to see more before I make a determination. His throws between the hashes and inside 15 yards are on point.
I just want to see him move the offense down the field for multiple drives making a lot of 10-15 yard passes. He's got the accuracy to do it. He's also got the accuracy to hit the deep ball, but I think he puts too much pressure on himself to do it in games when the game is still on the line and ends up taking too many deep shots because he wants to hit one so bad. Just manage the offense, make the throws that are there, settle in, and then take a killshot. Playcalling can help him a lot with this. It's going to be interesting to see how Heupel manages the game for Milton with him calling all the plays in the bowl game.

I'm sorry, but he was overthrowing guys by 10+ yards left and right. I don't blame that on the rain. We had guys open downfield all game and he was just throwing with reckless abandon, just like he has done for literally YEARS. I personally hope he throws for 400 yards and 5 TDs against Clemson, but I just don't have any reason to believe he is capable of that based on what he has done when he is the starter (not what he has done in mop up duty).
You do not get to decide who plays. You going to be a fan or complain about something you have no control over?

Glad he’s gone.

He's so stupid.

in 2000
Josh Heupel was 1st in completion % at 64.6%, 4th in passing yards at 3606, 16th in passing TDs at 20, 17th in QB Rating at 136.4, 9th in rushing TDs by QB at 7

2022
Bennett in those same categories. 13th in completion %, 11th in passing yards, 42nd in passing TDs, 25th in QB rating, 21st in rushing TDs by QB

So Heupel was top 20 in nearly every major category and top 10 in 3 of them and Stetson Bennett isn't top 10 in a single QB related category...

But again...it's the Heisman, 2001 Eric Crouch won the thing with these stats: 55.6% 1510 passing yards, 7 TDs, 10 INTs, 1115 rushing yards and 18 TDs (even if you base it on grand totals) 2688 total yards and 29 total TDs with 10 INTs...same season where David Carr went for 4839 passing yards and 46 TDs with just 9 INTs...it's NEVER been about the best season/player in the country.

I think Josh Heupel should hire me to work the portal for him. He doesn't even have to pay me. I'm a Volunteer.

That is ok. We don't want to take you away from your birthday responsibilities with Ronald and Hamburglar.

Milton is the starting QB, so I'm not going to do anything but hope for him to be successful.

He's another high character guy too that was willing to stay here as a backup rather than hop in the portal again. He won't throw near 70% completion like Hooker did though, just isn't going to happen. Hooker has never been inaccurate it wasn't something Heupel "fixed" or anything.

Hendo had at least 1 passing attempt in 41 games in his career, and in that time he failed to hit at 60% only 10 times. 31 games throwing at 60% or better with a career total of 12 INTs.

Dobbs threw in 37 games and had 18 games where he failed to reach 60%
Bray threw in 28 games and had 16 games where he failed to reach 60%

I'm hoping Milton is able to be a more accurate Tyler Bray for us. If he can do that without generating a ton more turnovers then we'll be winning a lot of games.

Spot on analysis. I also think its much simpler in Heupel's mind. Milton may be prenominal in practice and in 7v7, but if Heupel schemes players wide open and Milton continues to miss, he will look elsewhere in a hurry. I really think Heupel will bring in a transfer QB if he believes he can upgrade. I know that's not a popular opinion.

Jon Robinson has been the GM since 2016

His only "hits" in the draft were:
2016: Derrick Henry & Kevin Byard
2017: Jayon Brown? none of the guys are still Titans, and really haven't had great careers. Adoree' Jackson, Corey Davis, and Jonnu Smith were solid for the Titans briefly though.
2018: Evans, Landry, Cruikshank all good players, but Landry is the only one still with Titans and on IR
2019: Simmons, Davis, Hooker, and Long (Brown isn't with the Titans anymore)
2020: No impact guys all backup/depth guys at this point
2021: TBD so far no starters
2022: McCreary & Petit-Frere, rest are TBD

With the amount of turnover it just looks bad. The roster seems to be mostly free agents lots of turnover with his draft picks or just straight up misses.

The real problem though has been in the 1st round and how many misses he's made there.

Jack Conklin - good, but was a Titan just 4 seasons (Kevin Dodd was a 2nd rounder, but a huge miss there)
Corey Davis & Adoree' Jackson - solid, neither player still with Titans
Rashaan Evans - really good, but again moved after 4 seasons here
Jeffery Simmons - the best 1st rounder to date
Isaiah Wilson - BUST
Caleb Farley - hurt when drafted, played 3 games as a rookie, has played 9 games this season but isn't starting
Treylon Burks - missed a few games and hasn't shown much yet (meanwhile AJ Brown is balling in Philly)

If your plan is to build off the draft and rookie contracts then you have to hit more and he hasn't....seems like he drafts badly, then moves on from them rather than paying the 2nd contract bump (instead chases big names in free agency and overpays them instead...cause that makes sense).

So basically Henry, Byard, Simmons have been about it.

Add Radunz to the list of high draft choices that shouldn't have been made.

I think Heupel brings in a transfer QB 100%. But I don't think he's going to do it before the bowl game, it's an added distraction that he doesn't want to create for Milton.

"Joe this is your team and we're playing in your state. It's your time."

You can't say that and then also announce or bring in a transfer QB. Also there will likely be some really talented QBs enter the portal after bowl season and after spring camp, the guys entering now are trying to get their names out there early to give themselves the most time to get noticed.

Think of all the guys that were high rated and sat the last year or two and saw a lesser QB perform badly on in front of them.

Sam Horn over at Missouri, was the 8th rated QB in his class and he played in one game and got 2 attempts.
Walker Howard over at LSU, was the 5th rated QB in his class and he didn't see the field...and Jayden Daniels is supposed to be back next year and the 2024 class has Colin Hurley in it
Brock Vandagriff over at Georgia, been there 2 years and already used his RS was the 4th rated QB in the 2021 class and Carson Beck got more action than he did this year

I mean not sure yet what will happen with Milton I do think that the staff will wait though. Nico will be there and they have Jackson as well getting healthy. No additional distractions for the bowl game, if after bowl practice and the bowl game you don't feel confident in what Milton can offer there will be a line of quality transfer QBs willing to try and win the starting job here.
