Glad you didn’t show that before the game. I would have been a lot more nervous. It's truly amazing how some fans think you should score every play on offense and turn the opponent over every play on defense vs a lesser opponent.
Meanwhile Bama's first cupcake game last year was vs FCS Mercer and won 48-14. Man, what an awful team they must have had
Somehow people don't get these are still FBS teams. Not high school teams.
Just for reference, Ball St's last few P5 opponents:
2018 #5 ND 16-24
2019 vs Indiana 24-34
2019 NC St 23-34
2021 Penn St 13-44
But naww we should've won 90-0 or else we're trash Hell, we didn't even win by 50!! Only 49!!!
Watching the replay and noticed how much they were cutting BY. I wonder if they picked up something on him? It really slowed him way down on several plays.Seeing negativity towards our DL. I'll counter that.
I don't see how anyone can come up with negativity. Be neutral at worst.
- Balls Tate's OL was no slouch and considered a strength of the team. Averages around 6'4", 310lbs+
- They had a game plan to neutralize a pass rush. Quick passes, offsetting running attack, and occasional cut blocking
- The first interception was a direct result of DL pressure
- Loved seeing Josephs and Big O getting a hand (or forearm) on a pass. More of that please.
- Vanilla defensive game plan. We played a bend, don't break approach. Look at 3rd down efficiency. Balls Tate was 5/14 on 3rd down and 0/2 on 4th down. Kept everything in front of us and it worked.
- Starting D held them scoreless. How can you get much better than that?
