Not really.. the one referenced wasn't exactly a Cinderella story like that NC state or villanova game. Top 4 team beats another top 4 team isn't really 'one shining moment' worthy...

That's not the bar tho. Old system dictated who was the best and gave little chance for others to prove otherwise. It was very controversial that tOSU made the playoffs in that example. You're just throwing your VN up as a wall stating emphatically that other teams that got hot towards the end of a season couldn't do likewise? How about the 89 CobbWebb team? Think the top ranked teams wanted any of that action? Carson Palmer's last season and a two loss team. No doubt most talented that bowl season. Would have to make up a less stale song for these stories.

That is exactly why I want them to get beat. Same with wake forest and Cincinnati

No disagreement. But those were issues with Constraints placed on the post season because of the bowls and conferences.. and competing polls.

The changes that were made (BCS) were made to rectify that issue... That #1 and 2 simply were not ALLOWED to play many times because of how the post season was structured, not because there was a huge issue in how #1 or 2 were determined up to the point the bowls were played.

Get 1 and 2 to play each other. That was the only goal when all this started.

Bcs solved that problem. Sort of. Computers and algorithms were its downfall. Playoff the top 4 was supposed to fix that, but the committee has been its downfall.

Every time they've tried to fix it, There's an overreaction in the correction. I think this is more of the same.

Auburn happened during the BCS. So lean towards NOT "sort of". It was always going to end up this way and I doubt they stop until at least 16. It'll be way better football. The FCS playoffs is a way higher quality product for way less billions than the current joke.
