He was going for the low tackle. How else is he supposed to do it? And why can offensive players lower their head and initiate contact with their helmet?

I’m just saying you open yourself up for it when you lower your head and don’t go very low. It’s the way football is going regardless of what people think. I never played football, but they now want you to keep your head up and tackle with your chest and arms.

Agreed. They have all but eliminated WR head shots over the middle which I think was the intent of the rule and a good thing. But now the ball carrier has to be held accountable when they choose to lower their head.

Well in a game over the weekend 2 players were both going to the ground, they hit heads and they waved it off because it was incidental. But overall these head to heads have went down significantly. It will always happen occasionally it is football. I was just pointing out they are also using judgement many times when players are falling toward same spot going down. In these cases they aren’t launching to the head area with the crown of the helmet they are simply converging toward each other while going to the ground.

I would have a real dejected outlook on this season if I were a Tech fan lol.

Your comment gives me flashbacks to the night we lost to GA State, & I realized we were going to continue to wander in the desert for the foreseeable future. So thankful I no longer have that feeling!
