To be fair the Ga St game was a confirmation that Pruitt was the wrong guy and something needed to be done. The problem was too many were in denial and didn’t want to believe it. Even if we didn’t fire him in the 4th quarter we should have fired him the next day.

It’s not enough to beat the top teams consistently, but it closes the gap because we’re so talent starved right now.

If Heupel had the talent and depth of four consecutive top 10 recruiting classes then I think we could be competitive with anyone.

The key is if we can stack classes with average player ratings of 90.00 or higher.. we haven’t ever done that before. 2023 is 90.26 or something of that nature which would be 12-14th nationally usually at signing day and would put us in a spot with enough competitive depth for getting upsets against the Big 3… it isn’t enough for National Championships but if we can get that 90.26 to a 91.00 or higher for 2024 class then we’ll really be in good shape. But of course we have to win 8-10 games this season to keep that momentum going. Way too many times we had momentum and yet it all fell apart because we lose a few games on the field

He's not wrong. A couple of calls go the other way last year, and the expectations would be unsustainable (sorry @VolsDoc81TX). We're already generating an uncomfortable level of hype, imagine if we ended 9-4. I would far rather expect less and deliver more, than the opposite.

I always expected 15-0 (or the historical equivalent). Never got upset about not getting there.

That’s a huge deal…. I have watched several true event episodes where the police acted like there was nothing they could do… The. Cops didn’t act until tragedy struck.

I know it takes time and we have to be patient but I’m just so ready to break through. We flirted with breaking through for a couple of years under Butch (but he was a hack moron, turns out), but otherwise it’s been 15 years of waiting.
