We almost completely agree. It’s just that I am optimistic because there is a chance we could possibly get 9 or 10 wins. Last year people were saying 5!!! I won’t be disappointed if we don’t because I realize there are so many things that can go wrong in a season or game. I also realize we haven’t built up depth yet. But it’s fun thinking about watching this team.

But there are some that can’t handle things not going the way they expect. Heck, they can’t handle a recruit not doing what they expect.

Not me. Not negative against the team or players unless they just give up. Seeing the quit on faces during the last 4 previous coaches made me more sad than anything.

I have gotten extremely angry at all 4 quitter coaches and their bone headed moves that detracted from how great the University of Tennessee is and will always be…

Thankfully AD Danny White has summarily ended the misery by hiring CJH. Just an astounding turnaround in one season. Will be considered unheralded by the end of this season. Whispers of the new SEC dynasty by next season. Real life Nightmare for the foreseeable future for all of college football!

I am so excited by our present and future in all our sports, that I really can’t dwell on that atrocity committed against our Tennessee over the last decade+…

Need I say more?
Yup

15-0 🤠

Disappointment is what you should thrive on…. Set goals high and keep striving to reach it…. Even as a fan I always think national championship before the season starts…. I will keep going over there and cheering till that magical moment I get to witness another one.

Perfection is not attainable, but if we chase perfection we can catch excellence.
Vince Lombardi

Coach Lombardi would look at this Tennessee team and coaching staff, his evaluation would be:

15-0 🤠

That is hilarious. You were like, "Couldn't I just buy you maxi pads instead?"

When I was 20, I spent the Summer with my older sister out in Santa Barbara (legal age 21 in CA, still 19 in TN).
I was going to the grocery store and asked my sister if she needed anything?
My plan was to buy groceries and sneek in a 12 pack of beer. Even at 20, I looked maybe 16. Got carded all the time. As I was checking out at the grocery store, I put out the 12 pack, got a look from the cashier until I dropped the box of feminine products on top of it. She shook her head and didn’t card me. 😎

By the end of the Summer, my sister had a lifetime supply of feminine products! 😂

Sounds like this forum's unofficial maxims for Gameday threads

RF, my wife got delivery today. A box with all kinds of stalker-ish items. A journal. A letter with the sender's cell phone#. A song/poem titled in her name. Some south park socks. Some Chucks with names of the sender's favorite songs inked on them. The sender is from 1000+ miles away. A very sparse FB and LinkedIn account. Both track to the sender's address in the box. So we called the local PD. My 10yr old uses my wife's YouTube acct to post videos. Mostly of her pet dog and lizard. However her and her friend have posted a couple of videos if them doing gymnastic stretches. Just wondering how this dude could get my wife's name and our address from a YouTube acct? I checked the About tab. No email or location listed.

Very creepy. If it’s across state lines, involve the FBI.

This is what I appreciate about Heupel. It was about the coach under the last 4 regimes (although the focus was primarily on what total dip sh!t$ they were). Heupel is low key and quick to distribute attention and credit all around. He knows what Tennessee football is and doesn’t feel like he has to create the culture. The culture has always been here and he seems happy to be part of its resurgence.

Also, please don’t think I’m saying he isn’t a big part of the reason—I think he is also really good at his job.

Dear Danny,
the number I care most about is #15 which belongs to Bru McCoy
I care about his number being allowed to play in our first game.
I care about his Athletics Director being all over the NCAA and USC or whomever will declare him eligible to play.
I care a whole lot more about that than I do about what font the numbers have on our field.
Who really cares about that?
so, how about this, Danny? You get #15 eligible before our first game, and we fans won’t care if you use crayons 🖍 to draw ✍️ all of the numbers on the field. Deal?

Most places didn’t go to 5 weeks because we’re weird in America. Compare that with our European colleagues who typically disappear for the entire month of August. Right now many of them are out of the office and their message is “Not checking email, your message will not be forwarded.” Imagine trying to do that in America. We aren’t quite there as a culture.
Lol sounds about right. Our controller said don't bother with Mercedes folks, out for a month. Also means don't have to work on their sh** for awhile either.

Must be nice...😒

I saw a dude that had to be close to my age (54) at the rodeo last night with a beautiful young woman that couldn't have been more than 20-22...but at least he looked like he took care of himself and was dressed nice unlike that old blob.

I was sitting there thinking that just looks like too much hard work to me.
Barrel racer I’m sure…
