This 2023 class with the 90.35 rating average is impressive on a few levels
1 Haven’t won 10 games since 2007
2 NCAA violations negative recruiting consistently by opponents
3 shifting CFB landscape with Bama and Georgia dominating.

Yet despite all that we’ve locked in a very good average and class with the last 5 seasons being
2017 4-8
2018 5-7
2019 8-5
2020 3-7
2021 7-6

Imagine what we’d finish the 23’ class with if we win 8-10 games this season And I could only imagine what 24’ class would look like. Not to mention Spyre would probably get even more people on board if we get more success on the field the excitement would boost everything

Really the only complaints I have is OL and WR. We needed one of the 3 tackles we missed on. I'm not worried about WR, we will find people that want to catch the ball in the offense.
It’s fair but at this point the class certainly surpasses expectations based on circumstances. We’ve got a solid 21 commitment base of roughly half blue chips that’ll probably move up even more as their senior seasons progress. Not to mention if we win 8-10 games as projected by many then we’ll really be on the hunt for blue chips targeting other’s classes for flip targets

Vols just shut out of the AP Poll at #26…. Beat Ball State by 60 and I think we’ll jump up in there for a ranked matchup vs Pittsburgh
I saw the spread at 32 or something and I’m pretty confused. Have to admit. Returning quarterback and starters everywhere plus this offense usually really feasts on Ball State type of teams with little effort. I’d expect a really big win and Heupel wanting to start off the season with a bang by putting up 60-70

Pretty impressive commitment

Nobody is going to bet on a 60+ pt spread. They just don't offer those.

Fwiw Ball St lost to Penn St by 31 last year. Lost to NC State by 11 as their last P5 opponent. They're lowly...but not that bad.

We'll thrash them...but Vegas also expects us to have our 3rd stringers in by Q3. That limits things. Tayven could be in for a few series...we'll get lots of run for guys and probably give up some garbage time points with our walk-ons and such. That's a good thing, them getting to play.

Talked to P5 coach one time about sport’s media. He had just been interviewed on radio broadcast and he went on and on about how majority of sport’s writers and broadcasters know very little about football. Polls are a perfect example of what he told me several years ago.
Coach’s Poll is not much better because they have no time to know what other teams are doing. They are solely focused on their team and their opponents

Had a buddy in FBS football. Coaches almost never fill it out. It’s usually given to a GA or QC guy to fill out.
