It seems like we haven't really attacked the middle of the field that much. I think that's by design, to protect against turnovers and I hope we light'em up big-time there.

I didn’t watch a lot of the game, but USF appeared to be having success there. Their WRs were also open deep a few times, but QB almost always missed. They also used the speed option to get to the edge.

Not really any info though. See statement below tweet.

“That’s a great question," Pope, Tennessee's wide receivers coach, said while speaking at the Knoxville Quarterback Club, when asked if Tillman would be available Saturday against Florida. "Coach Heupel will answer those questions. I’m sure he’s already answered it. We’ll take that one day-by-day.”

Looks like the janitor may be right once again!

SP+ and FPI rankings: 8th and 8th

SP+ strength of schedule to date: 70th

Odds of reaching 12-0, per SP+: 1.0%

What they did in Week 3: defeated Akron 63-6

Why they're still unbeaten: Complementary football. Against two overwhelmed MAC opponents, Tennessee put up gaudy totals and won by a combined 122-16. (No coach destroys outmanned defenses like Josh Heupel.) But the Vols had to labor at Pitt in Week 2, and while both offense and defense misfired at times, both units made enough plays in the clutch to survive in OT. They might have to follow that formula again this Saturday against Florida.

Why they're ranked here: The defense has played mostly well so far, and the offense almost always shows up. We'll find out exactly what the Vols are capable of soon -- five of their next six opponents are 33rd or better in SP+, and three are in the top 10.

I hope he’s not as wound up as we all are. I hope, too, that if we fall short, the folks lambasting others for being negative aren’t going to come in here and crap all over the team and coaches and say it’s done, Heupel will never be successful here, etc.
Yeah it's the prototypical inflection point.

But Hype has reached one a year early. They usually come in Y3. This is a nice luxury to find on in Y2 (on top of Pitt already). These are the kinds of wins that can propel the program. Though I don't find this to be a true inflection point, as a loss won't mean much. After all, Heupel is literally 17 games into his career here lol. Would be waaay ahead of schedule if we could do it though.
