I have BVS bad. I just feel we will blow this one chance to beat the total crap out of Florida.
I'm not gonna lie, mine is flaring up.

I hope people realize UF is gonna have some big plays. They are gonna make some good runs. They're gonna stop us here and there.

I just don't think they have what it takes to shut us down and score more than we can.

I'd give just about anything to see us lay a 52-6 butt-whoopin' on them.

Mine too. My heart sank when I imagined what a bad mood I’d be in for the next couple of weeks when I imagined losing. A familiar feeling. Trying to banish those thoughts though.

2016 - Butch Jones - Vols ranked 14, Gators ranked 19. ESPN Gameday was in town. Checker Neyland was in full swing.

Butch totally blew it, but the Vols won thanks to Dobbs and Jennings.

And we wore smokey greys
Don't let the facts get in the way of a good narrative 😏

And do you all remember how poorly that game started for UT. 21-3 at the half. We had the ball first and goal twice and no points.
I do.

I was rallying the entire 247 board saying how the yardage was very even and we were playing really well. Few believed it, but they stuck around. Went all out William Wallace that day and we defeated the damn Brits.

Dobbs, Jennings, Hurd, Malone, and Barnett just bruteforced that win. With a better coach who wasn't wound tighter than a nun's ******* in the locker room (as you know Butch was), we probably would have won 45-14.

I’ll never forget watching Butch nervously pacing the sidelines with his arms folded during the 15 Oklahoma and 15 Florida games in the 4th Q. At the time, I dumbly thought it was a confident man. Instead, he was folding like a deck of cards.

I think he’s certainly got more fortitude than Butch does but we did get handled by a Florida team that went 6-7 last year. Now one can argue that was a turning point for the Vols, and I think it was, but UF shut this offense down just a year ago.

But we really oughta win this one. I wish we didn’t have the injuries. I’d feel much better. But it seems they’ll be out their best defender so maybe it washes out. We’ll see.

This years UF defense is not the same and will most likely be missing it’s best player. They will be starting two FR LBs in the teams first true road game. Hardly ideal. We need to just put as much pressure and stress on that defense as we can and I am sure they will break.

That UF team was better than 6-7 last year though, but that team straight up quit.

You twits. I mean it screams for you to bet money on Florida and take the points. We havent beaten Florida by double digits since 2003. Amateurs.
Gotcha. You were saying to bet big money on Florida.

I get it, but could never bring myself to do it unless it was a near lock. First time ever, but I did buy Vandy's points last year. I trusted them just enough. Don't trust Florida. At all. If that group gets behind, they'll fold.

I can't remember who it was, but after the Hail Mary at UGA and Butch looked like his life was spared, then he dropped to one knee, the media member was like "This guy is not built for the job." It may have been Cowherd. They called it out the Monday after the game like "Hey, did you see this guy? Ohh boy is he in over his head."

As a head coach, Butch just didn't inspire confidence in his teams. I think he just stressed them out. His insecurity of being the head guy at a major program rubbed off on the players.

Heupel seems different in that regard. I think that's a big perk of actually being an Xs and Os head coach and not just a motivator/CEO type. As the former, you have direct control over what's going to happen, so there's less fear of your gameplan being bad and your team absolutely crapping the bed. I think those coaches approach games a little more objectively because they are focused on matchups and plays and not having to sort of passively watch the game unfold.

Got a call to come quote a remodel on a guest house/studio. It's basically a converted detached garage. Lady says the paint is like 40 years old. . . I walk in and it's a man cave done in Smoky grey with orange windows & baseboards. Tennessee clocks and coat racks on the walls. Checkerboard tile floor. . . told her I wouldn't be able to take the job, cause I can't improve perfection.

I thought he blew his knee out, celebrating.

I loved it at the time but yeah. When else has a coach done that? It was like Butch was overwhelmingly thankful that he had secured at least another year on his contract.
