I absolutely cannot like this enough! Go Vols!!!For those that liked Dooley in here, and you know who you are, this is the Dooley I saw in person with VFL's at functions they invited me to attend with them back in those days. The guy was deeply embarrassing. I felt very sorry for his wife, who was a class act, and his kids. I felt sorry for UTAD staff underlings who were treated like crap by the guy. I felt sorry for VFL's who wondered WTH was wrong with the guy. I felt really sorry for the players and their families. They entrusted their lives to UT - and UT shiz the bed. But most of all I felt sorry for him. He has gone through life as a wannabe who had no business being a football coach. Lost ball in tall weeds.
He was followed by Botch. After a few years of him, I quit going to events and practices as did the VFL's. Stopped going to games. It was more than I could bear with his psycho antics, who was then followed by Cornbread. More of the same with a different accent.
I say all that because on this Sunday while looking back, it felt like we had wandered in the wilderness for 40 years instead of the 15 or so it was.
Now - I wake up excited for the Big Orange every single day. I highly value what has happened since Randy stepped in. Steady progress that has led to our Vols being elite in major and minor sports with strong academics and the rest of the world finding out it's great to be a Tennessee Vol again. I am blown away at Heup's, Barnes' and Voltello's accomplishments. It's getting hard to name my favorite Vols now - and that's how I know it is all going as it should. I want the same thing for the LV's again as hard decisions need to be made.
Be thankful, not apprehensive. The world will still do the dirty against our guys on occasion like with the Heisman and COY honors. However, even better days are ahead of us and the naysayers will just have to endure our attitudes whether they like it or not. We deserve our time at the top as well.
Have a blessed day Vol family.
I can say the Vandy replay was amazing. That 3rd quarter of big run after big run was absolutely ridiculous. I can remember many years during Dooley and Butch and Pruitt just praying that we could break a big one and they were few and far between. With Heupel it's just a mattet of how many.Suddenly I feel the need to watch the Tennessee/Bama replay.
Jack, you have been in this mood since Pruitt was fired the way he was. Relax. We’re going to get who we need even if there’s none of the flashy Butch and Pruitt style buildup. Goodness, Nico signed his NIL yesterday! That should at least give you a few days of relief.Agreed.
Starting to get a bit concerned with lack of recruiting traction or momentum with an Orange Bowl bid & Biletnikoff winner. Specifically as it pertains to rounding out '23, transfers (lack of), and 24 momentum.
Looks like her O2 is low. Lips turning purple. She know anything about football?

I mean I already do this most weeks so sure!In rememberance of this wonderful season, we should set up a "viewing party" thread for 11 Saturdays in the Winter/Spring, each scheduled ~2-3 hours before a Vol basketball game, where we simultaneously rewatch Freak's uploaded version of each game and relive the great moments. One for each of our 11 wins.
Who's down?
Well said. Hope everyone is soaking this in. I think Dabo said in 2014 their fans should enjoy it, because they were entering a golden era...which they did for a short period. We are entering ours now, but instead in multiple major sports. It's hard to even believe if you went back 8-9 years. For those that liked Dooley in here, and you know who you are, this is the Dooley I saw in person with VFL's at functions they invited me to attend with them back in those days.
